Because the forum's aren't just supposed to be an echo chamber of "#SPACE! ?"

Not yet, at least.

And constantly going "Mass Effect is dead" after something new comes up isn't an echo chamber?

Is everyone saying "Mass Effect is dead?"

Besides ... it seems perfectly feasible to me that there'd be a top-secret project to devise an escape plan. Shepard's plan to construct an ancient superweapon, function unknown -- which had never actually saved a single life or killed a single Reaper in the past -- was insanely, almost laughably, desperate and risky. Who in their right mind would put all of their eggs in that basket with the very existence of organic life at stake?!

If the solution is derived from the trusted Protheans' technology and the alternative is conventionally beefing up the military to confront an unfathomable legion of miles-high Cthulhu who have been annihilating the galaxy for billions of years, it should be pretty obvious where the eggs are going to go. Diverting some of those resources, manpower, and brainpower towards an ark, one that could easily be intercepted, is also quite risky.

I know people with far greater pragmatism and proclivity towards cynical analysis will say smarty pants things about ark theory, and yada-yada, but seriously...

that was dope. It made me feel a connection to the eras of space exploration gone by, and that links Mass Effect (as it always has) to a real urge for exploration that I think is fundamental to humans. It makes me feel as though Shepard is not lost, she (he, if you prefer), will always be with us in spirit, and that spirit of boldness and exploration is what ties us all together.

Yes, I want more details about story and gameplay too, but creatively, first they have to establish tone and it seems they're sharing that with us first. Positive signs for a teaser.

They've also had plenty of time to say goodbye over the past 3 years.

They have, but it's clear that the sentiment still lingers. The trailer made for a nice torch-passing.

No but neither is everyone else being a echo chamber

Again, yet.

People are allowed to be cynical and pessimistic about the direction Mass Effect is going.  No matter how others may try to shout them down and drive them off

Shouting "Mass Effect is dead" is being cynical and pessimistic? Okay....

Edit: I guess that video also disproved the theory about using a Collector cruiser/Black Ark to get to Andromeda.

How so? The guy who made Black Ark Theory suggests that they could just use parts of a Black Ark.

Plus the front half of the ship looks similar to a Black Ark, just with metal rather than hive protrusions.

Who said anything about "beefing up the military to confront" the Reapers? Building the Ark ship in secret, and then launching a secret escape, is the exact opposite of that plan.

And space is almost incomprehensibly vast. I don't think avoiding the Reapers would be as difficult as you suggest if your only goal is getting out of the galaxy alive. You could take any route you liked while the full attention of the Reapers is focused on the populated planets inside Citadel Space.

You obviously don't know what an echo chamber is.

https://en.wikipedia...chamber_(media)

"In media, an echo chamber is a situation in which information, ideas, or beliefs are amplified or reinforced by transmission and repetition inside an "enclosed" system, where different or competing views are censored, disallowed or otherwise underrepresented."

This is the BSN in a nutshell. People are heaping loads of undeserved praise over BioWare's subpar, badly designed games while meeting even the tiniest sliver of criticism with seething hostility.

You jumped to a baseless, silly conclusion. I did not.

It's not baseless or silly when framed through what we have had in mass effect is it.
£20 says it's human led, designed and built mission.

It's been three years since ME3, five years since ME2 since some of these people say they don't like that game either. It will be a year until the new game comes out.

At this point it is more than obsession, it's mental illness.

I was countering your proclamations about the issues with the Crucible idea with the bold. Desperate and risky are highly relative when it comes to the Reapers. And this "secret escape" is still also quite risky, since it diverts valuable assets away from a solution and could very easily be intercepted or fail in any number of ways.

I don't think this was to the crew of the Ark. To me, its definitely a message to the fans.

In my opinion, a ship launch prior to the end of ME3 is the most likely scenario.

It is. Its between tessia mission and final assault.

After tessia that councilor:

"

Councilor: I don’t know what to say. What was the situation on Thessia?

Shepard: Deteriorating fast. The Reapers are there in strength.

Councilor: Then I should be going. Plans must be put in motion. Continuity of civilization has to be considered. I never imagined this day would come.

"

So we all can thank asari for next mass effect. :)

This also allows reaper harvest ending possible, but it still doesnt mean that milky way will be dead from current races if those andromera people come back with huge fleet and destroy reapers. :)

Do you really think she was referring to any civilization but the asari?

She was willing to let the galaxy burn around her if it meant protecting their worlds
