It's stated time and time again everyone is putting everything in this war, there was no plan B, never even a hint of it. Yet all of a sudden THERE was a plan B. It's a retcon, plain and simple along with lazy writing at best.

That's not the only thing being retconned, the galaxy is being retcon'd from a galaxy who's only means of long range travel is limited to the mass relay's to a galaxy who is capable of intergalactic travel.

Neither does using a unknown untested Crucible ;)

An ark ship is just as risky as the crucible since they'll be on their own with no help.

Which you know, would have been helpful if it was made into combat ready to fight the reapers instead of wasting resources.

Well, to be fair that could have been part of its original purpose, similar to the Geth building the Geth Dreadnought. The Collector Cruisers boasted powerful offensive and defensive capabilities, and with even more enhancements from our cycle it could be a Reaper-killer. But then orders from on high make it go from being a warship to a colony ship.

It's also possible that the ship was created before the Reaper threat

Then why would nobody have heard of it? A ship like that would be frontpage news.

Of course it's risky but that obviously hasn't stopped them before

The trilogy is over.  Shepard is done.  Put a fork in them both.

Time, manpower.  These are things that are not in high quantity.  Building a large ship like a dreadnought takes years.  This is almost certainly much, much larger.

Edit:  And this doesn't even take into account integrating the new technology that would be needed just to make the trip

This argument would have merit if they hadn't been able to build the Crucible in the same time-frame.

Whether you like that happening or not is irrelevant to a discussion of ME:A, since it's now an established fact in the setting.

My own through would be it was some ship dating back to the Krogan Rebellions or Rachni Wars.  Some sort of evacuation ship for colonies under siege, maybe?

Of course, that would mean the ship would need a massive tech overhaul.  Which would take time and resources as well.

Tell it to BW, They're the ones trying to sell the game using Shepard.

If you want to support Bioware retconning and putting even bigger plotholes in ME3, then be my guest.

What's "lazy" about it? Moving to Andromeda means more work, not less work.

Except there was more to my post to anyone who can read. Takes a special kind of strawman to target one sentence in a paragraph.

Yes, I believe there are people who will either want to play the game or not. Pretty sure that covers everyone.

^Good point.

As an Andromeda supporter, that probably would not have been my go to method for advertising a game designed to escape the trilogy and its endings.

No they're not, they used this N7 day as the final goodbye before going straight forward with Andromeda

Except the argument was it took everything they had to build the Crucible in that time frame.  We're scrambling about sending "everyone who can hold a hammer" to Hackett.  Diverting crucial resources away from "the only way to stop the Reapers" seems massively foolish.

And obviously this ship is an established fact.  I'm just pointing out it's looking less and less like a carefully-planned-out soft reboot and looking more and more like panicked flight from ME3's backlash.

Doing it well means more work.

It'll be untested like the crucible as well add to that it'd be a lot safer to travel to one of the the satellite galaxies instead of the Andromada galaxy since it'd take centuries to get to Andromeda which is more than enough time for something catastrophic to happen to the ark. A trip to one of the satellite galaxies would only take a few decades which would lower the risk of something bad happening to the ark during the journey significantly.

Except EC was a "final goodbye"

Then Citadel was a "final good-bye"

Now this teaser.

When it the Absolutely Positively LAST Final Goodbye?

Because they are busy fighting the Reapers and keeping them at bay the best as possible. Resources, manpower and time are NOT disposable.

The salarians are attacked near the end of the war and it's clear that the Dalatrass is holding back Salarian resources. I mean, I think you can easily end up with zero war assets from the Salarians.

You contradict yourself in your own statement, I find your lack of respect disturbing.
