Past occurrences have no relevance in this matter.
They do, trends are things that can't be ignored and the trend regarding Bioware's handling of retcons speaks for itself.
But we've already established that that isn't true. The quote you provided proves that.
It does back up my claim when they'd risk anything it means anything including economic collapse.
A few years. OK, so where the hell are you getting decades? If the Crucible could be constructed in a few months why couldn't this ship? Would it take decades to draft blueprints?
Bioware intended for the crucible to be the only way to stop the reapers, they never considered a back up plan when they made ME3. There's also the fact the council did nothing during ME2 with regards to the reapers.
But they're not willing to do anything to escape the Reapers? They're going to put all of their eggs in the Crucible basket, with no proof that it would even work?
An ark will also be just as risky since they never tested that it'll be capable of intergalactic travel and they be no one to save them if they get into trouble.
Who cares? The Crucible didn't drain the galaxy of every resource just because you want it to.
The crucible project and the war effort are taking a huge toll on the galaxies resources, they clearly cant afford another large scale project.
They never bothered to make sure the Crucible worked.
They won't be testing if their ark ship will be able to stay function for a few centuries.
And again, would it take decades to draft blueprints?
Considering the ship will be carrying the last numbers on many different species, the fact its going to be in FTL for a few centuries none-stop etc. Its clearly not going to be something that be drawn out in a months or years.
You're being entirely illogical for the sake of throwing a hissy fit.
I'm not I'm just pointing the huge leaps of logic and and contrivances the whole ark concept relies on.
Turians are firing Thanix cannons like it's no tomorrow from Sovereign's pieces
A thanix cannon and a reaper core are two completely different things.
It would probably help if you explained why instead of going on about how clear and obvious it is. Otherwise it just looks like a self-serving assumption.Considering the ship will be carrying the last numbers on many different species, the fact its going to be in FTL for a few centuries none-stop etc. Its clearly not going to be something that be drawn out in a months or years.
I love the Carl Sagan homage when the ship pulls away from the solar system revealing earth as a "pale blue dot".
ETA: Oh, and I had a squee over the Ryder/Sally Ride dog tags as well.
No Mass Effect 3 ending are canon so it's clear the ship leaves BEFORE the end of Mass Effect 3. When ? I don't know.
That might keep the people alive (keep them from dying due to age, anyway), but that won't stop them from having to discharge the ship's drive core every day.
How exactly? Once the ship has reached the cruising speed (since we are in space) you can just power the whole thing down and keep the minimal life support systems active (that managed to do the job for protheans for ages).
I also got the Interstellar vibe from the trailer, but let's not pretend as if the ideas in Nolan's flick were in any way original. The most original aspects of that film came in the real-world science and the bonkers ending, which was also the part of the film that stretched credibility way too far.
I think the actual film has great spectacle but the plot is downright dumb. What I meant was merely that there's a recognizable style to Nolan's self-indulgent and high-falutin writing that the ME:A trailer mimics. That part is kind of Nolan-original, and many who watch his movies mistake the self-indulgent prose for profound writing IMO.

While I find this funny, it leaves me uneasy knowing how quick Bioware fans are to make conspiracy-theories out of everything. Let's be clear on a pre-emptive tangent here; This is nothing but similarity in art design, not an intended connection.
I felt the ship itself kind of looked like a mix of the Shadow Brokers ship, the citadel and... a mass relay. Regardless, it looked pretty damn AWESOME. Loved the video too.
Looked crap tbh, absolutely no interest in trailers like that

Does look similar to me as well. Maybe those extensions "solve" the drive discharge "issue."
Loved it, even if it is just meant as a final goodbye to the fans. The NASA footage and the shot of the ship leaving the Milky Way stirs up what Mass Effect is to me, the sense of exploration and new frontiers.

Are you a dev? Why don't you have a tag?

If it is a repurposed Collector vessel it doesn't have a drive discharge issue to begin with.

Welp that ship looks nice
Probably had already been posted, but...

The Gravestone, anyone? ![]()

Tried to get that point across about the Thorian, the Cipher, and the Conduit earlier but ... yeah.
It happens, folks.
Agreed. People are seeing a ship and calling it an ark... well, maybe not. It could be a scientific exploratory ship or it could be a colony ship like the Mayflower. it could be that the Krogans sent similar ships, and maybe the Turians. Who knows besides Bioware. This past N7 Day was all about "Goodbye." The teaser, rather than be about survival of species, was all about exploration, and in the end Shepard signed off. What we're going to get is a new beginning in a new galaxy with new Lore.
Oh no, FemShep canon now? ![]()
Oh no, FemShep canon now?
And Bioware say they promoting equality they are liars sexist like everyone else.
Well, they could've had Mark Meer's voice play simultaneously with Hale's, giving that creepy overlord voice.

Yeah I loved this about the teaser as well. The whole boldly going angle greatly appeals to me.
I say the ship leaves before the events of ME3.
What would've been nice is if the ship left during ME3, they showed a few reapers in the video as the ship flew by
Even better, Reaper forces invade the ship while you're fleeing, and you have to fight them during the trip between galaxies.
