Links to the Milky Way in ME:A?

So the new video has a heavy focus on moving away to explore (or perhaps some other reason?)

But it also has a theme of remembering where you came from. The video is now public again on the official Mass Effect Youtube channel and the description says, "Know that wherever you go, we will be with you. Never forget where you came from."

This is making me think that despite us moving into Andromeda, there will still be links to the Milky Way. We can't forget where we came from... perhaps the real reason we're moving to and exploring Andromeda is to find a way to save our home and the people in it.

Either way, I don't think we're done with the Milky Way forever. We've moved away temporarily, but we'll be back. We all go home again.

Doubtful, trailer suggests this is a one-way trip. We are looking back at our galaxy for the last time and moving forward to something new. Don't think there will be a connection to Milky Way.

I suspect the only link we'll have to the Milky Way will be a QEC & it's partner QEC back on Earth, and the Earth based QEC will be destroyed during the reaper invasion severing our ties with Earth & the Milky Way.

Because of ME3 endings, i don't think Bioware will implement too many links to the original trilogy

The ship you see in the new n7 days trailer look like it have some kind of crucible energy devise in its core... and their don't habe this tec befor ME3 ... and there are no reapers around earth in the trailer when the mission start... so i strongly suspect that the andromeda mission starts after ME3 ...

I have no idea how bioware will make this with the endings. But its their univers ... nor other choice as let bioware surprise us.

@"Know that wherever you go, we will be with you. Never forget where you came from."

IMO that quote suggests that "Synthesis or Control" were canon endings from ME Trilogy. Who are "we" in that quote? I suspect we won't know until the very end of ME-A.

I doubt there'll be any links to the Milky Way, considering how ME3 ended.

The way the trailer was done was saying that it's a one-way trip to Andromeda. I bet in the game, some characters will bring up theories on what's going on in the Milky Way, but nothing specific.

That suggests random inspirational trailer speak. I wouldn't put too much weight on dialogue that probably won't even feature in the main game.

I disagree. The 'We' means the rest of the humanity as a whole. Besides, moving to Andromeda is BW's way of not addressing the endings. If you want to go down that road, though, then Shepard's voice would mean that she/he is alive and the high EMS Destroy ending is canon. But I'm pretty sure that none of the endings will be canon. The uproar would be too great. I believe the ship leaves before the ending of ME3.

QEC people. It allows Bioware to "reflect" ending choices in easiest and cheapest way possible - short holo conversations.

Weirdly, I'd be okay with that.

I bet tickets to get on the giant space boat is like 500,000 credits a pop. If you're not rich or sell your soul to the Alliance, you're not making the journey.

It isn't about $ but rather about genes: http://www.neogaf.co...&postcount=1346.

ARKCON was pretty much confirmed by the leak and later re-confirmed by the first trailer.

I don't think there will be a link to the Milky Way, not even through QEC. If there was QEC communication then they could have turned around and returned if the Reapers were taken care of; there would be no need for a contingency if Shepard saves the day. I think that the message Shepard leaves is just a sending off, just telling the explorers to remember their roots, don't forget the homeworld type of thing.

QEC Communication would be possible..... possibly.. Bioware will decide if it happens or not.

Not necessarily. Especially if the journey takes centuries (which it should).

There could be reasons why they don't turn around for the ship could have launched prior to Mass Effect and it was a long range expedition team so even with the defeat of the Reapers their original mission is still in progress.  Another reason could be the technology they are using to propel the ship prevents them from turning around, sort of like how we slingshot satellites around planets.  If they are using the Relay technology it could be the only relay they could use to travel is the Alpha relay which Shepard destroyed in Mass Effect 2: Arrival.  There are plenty of reasons that BioWare could think of to justify anything they want of course there are going to be plenty of people at the same time will look to find plot holes in their reasoning.
