Men tend to have larger heads. They may be twins! All twins that are male/female are fraternal already.
Men tend to have larger heads than women, but young boys don't tend to have larger heads than young girls.

I really hope not. That would be terrible.
why terrible?
If Ryder is indeed the last name of the protag that's not half bad. I like it, though now the child in me is trying to think of all the silly stuff I can do with Ryder as the last name when it comes to naming my character.
I'm actually in the not a large fan of "Ryder" camp...it feels too Hollywood for me. But I too will be coming up with a name I giggle at to make it tolerable.
That's half the reason I like the name, gives me a goal to make silly names with. Or names that sound like an alias for a superhero that a preteen/teen would come up with.
By day she's Helen Ryder but by night she becomes HellRider.
I dont know Hanako it could work whichever PC you pick then the other could become a fully fleshed out NPC/Squadmate that would give you a strong emotional tie. Everybody loved Mission Vao/Tali & Merrill because all three were the little sister type but it could be good if done right better than DA2s attempt at least.I really hope not. That would be terrible.

We did? I don't think I exactly meant it, but I got Mission killed... along with Carth.
I don't need a little sister. Just like I don't want "bro" characters. Nor do I have daddy issues either (thanks ME2). ![]()
I pretty much want to be left out of the writers' various family issues.
To be serious, I didn't mind Mission. I can respect her.. she's spunky and tough. And survived a bad situation. Little sister implies she needs protection.
why terrible?
I do not want the protagonist's backstory and motivation that established. Plus I'm not a fan of forced connections with characters, which would happen with family members. They tried that with Hawke and a lot of people didn't like it.

I never saw any of those characters as the little sister type. And with all three, it wasn't a forced relationship. With family members though, it is a different story, especially if they are your motivation.
The Shepard now The Ryder...

I think, if the two children are twin brother and sister, and either may be the protagonist we create, it will foster a sense of solidarity among the fans. Instead of "there can only be one Shep", female or male, there can be two Ryder's, brother or sister who are not one and the same. FemShep and maleShep are the same person with a gender swap. Maybe BioWare will go a different route with brother and sister Ryder, two very different experiences, sort of how Urdnot Bakara has different dialogue with femShep in ME3. If this is even the situation.
I'm really tired and don't know if that makes sense, Night!
The Shepard now The Ryder...
Must be my immature mind but The Ryder sounds like a p*rn name.
Combination of the two would sound like a very weird p*rno.
So it could be our protagonists family. Our protag may actually have an older (or younger brother or sister). If so, that's pretty cool.
It would be cool, I wouldn't mind seeing a unstable family element like with Solid Snake and Liquid Snake.
Isn't that BW style though? I can't think of anything since Neverwinter Nights that didn't have an established back story. I could be wrong though I haven't played that game a very long time.I do not want the protagonist's backstory and motivation that established. I'm sure we'll get to choose our backstory, don't worry people.
Probably something like Earthborn/Colonist/Spacer like last time.
Maybe some new information to the backgrounds, I wouldn't mind that. Colonist was my personal favorite backstory for Shepard.

Mine was Spacer with Sole Survivor. I wonder how many psychological profiles we will get to choose from this time.

Spacer was cool as well, Admiral Shepard.
Mine is the background in my signature
Think they'll actually matter this time?
I hope. And I don't mean like a random line here or there or one mission.
This may sound Racist but.. Ryder sounds like a black name...

A shame he had to be put down for his disloyalty.

Sounds even worse when you attach a rank to it.
'General Ryder'
'Captain Ryder'
'Commander Ryder'
Uh huh.
Shepard had "Commander Shepard" as his theme, Ryder will have this
