It's probably purely for the trailer. We aren't going to see Shepard. Shepard isn't going to play any part in Andromeda. That's been made clear. This trailer is probably just a send off for Shepard. Like "in case you didn't know, Shepard's story is done".

Everyone knows that though. It seems the main people who care now are Bioware.

Yeah they sadly choose to end it the way they did

Its bad as I thought it would be there is absolute no way such a project can be pulled off during war that is crippling the economy with each passing day and rapidly dwindling resources.

would be extremly stupid

mass effect 3 is about getting help military to fight back the reapers

so by having a entire ark full of military to be send off to another galaxy i mean how stupid is that ?

ok guys we need all the help we can get

but lets send this ( high tech ark away from out of no where !!) with alot of our stuff and military !

You mean they shouldn't have a plan B?

I was happy enough with my Destroy ending actually.

All I ever wanted though was to get back to business in the Milky Way. It's the reason I kept fighting and playing. Everything was interesting about Mass Effect -- except the epic Bioware formula and the Reapers. If they thought I was only there for that, they're bigger idiots than I thought. I just wanted to be a dirty cop. Or get in some adventures or hash out political plots. Or work out racial relations in detail. Not go to another galaxy and see the same epic formula again. Which is what will happen. These guys are incapable of giving momentum to a story in other ways (scratch that, they tried in DA2, but too many people hated them for it).

of course they should but they never had one

since they dident even believe shepard until the reapers was right at their doorstep.

so making it seem like woow they had plans for years ( to make this ark) seems lazy and makes no sense

writers fault

Unless of course most of the superstructure already exists when they start the project. Maybe they have captured a certain kind of ship that fits all the criteria they need and spend the time just making it more suitable for the races of our cycle.

Of course she knew. Everybody with a tiny bit of common sense knew.

Everybody knew that winning this war had a chance of about 1% or less.

It would make sense for Shep to record a "time caspsule" kind of thing and for the Alliance or all the Council Species with joint effort

to start building an ark, from whatever technology they could use from Sovereign's remains, from the Crucible plans, from the data of the Collector Base.

I'm sure they had other plans to survive (for at least someone) other than just, "yeah, let's give the Crucible a chance we'll see what happens, it should work...or not!".

It seems a stretch that they were able to build such a large ship without anyone knowing about it. I can't really buy it currently, so hopefully they'll come up with a decent excuse for it.

We don't even know the formula for MEA yet outside of the leak scripted, and honestly DA2 was just a smaller version of their epic formula in a "save the city" way

They didn't even have a Plan A until the "small data cache" coughed up a deus ex machina

They couldn't even keep the Crucible under wraps.

We do know the formula. It's often the same thing.

And at this point, I'm even more convinced because they literally bill themselves this way in WoT 2. As if it's something to be proud of. "When we make a game, we'll often introduce a core crisis, something like a Breach or Blight.."

But I already saw it anyways, because I'm a nerd for literary analysis. ;)

It often is because that's what Bioware does since BG but it's not a 100% guarantee

It's not like that formula is bad in itself

OMG

I ALMOST JUMP OUT OF THE WINDOW TODAY WHEN I HEARD THE NAME.

I don't wanna know how skeptical you people are right now BUT I CAN'T TAKE THIS RIGHT NOW ANYMORE.

Oh my God yes oh my God.

I don't know what this means but BioWare defenetly surprised me.

And I will suck it all in.

I love this.

I suspect this was just a nod to the fans, but if Shepard really knew about this... that'd be kinda weird yeah

It is bad. It's for children and needy people who don't get fellated enough elsewhere. I always feel a little insulted playing through these parts. I end up enjoy the little moments in between, and the world/characters. They're good at this.

At one point, I thought Hudson knew this himself. He just wanted to get back to exploring this setting. But it looks like it got shot down.

That ship is huge, it would take ages to build and it would be costly as all hell. For this to make sense it would need to be a pre-planned expedition years in the making, and not something instigated by the Reaper War.

Goddamn it. Now I feel dumb. It makes way more sense for Shepard's monologue to be purely for theatrics and meant more for fans, than have any actual meaning to the story.

Uhm, if it's Ark why Shepard mutters about curiousity and stuff? If it's exploration expedition what's this "good bye" supposed to mean?

Oh, welcome to Citadel DLC, please enjoy our archives about Geth Dreadnought attack. Don't forget your SPECTRE access.

Because, either the whole advanced civilization in the Milky Way dies, or the Andromeda crew won't ever come back. They're going into the unknown, I mean - really unknown. Anything can happen.
