What do you NOT want to see in ME:A?

Bioware made several games. They have good parts, even some very good parts. And other that are terrible and that you hope you will never see again.

I'm not talking about plot twist, personnal feeling about the story or the artwork part. No, I'm talking about parts that can break the immersion and give some negative feeling.

 

*Don't forget the PC gamers and made usable interface : lot of people love the K+M duo.

 

*Never again use the font of DAI : Grey capital letters of 1mm height on white background is NOT the better way to use text.

 

*The tactical tables of ME3 are a good way to change the weapons of your team... But in the middle of a map full of enemies with not a single escape route you can take the weapons and mods from your spaceship? Seriously?

 

*Sidequest have a beginning, a story and an ending. ME3 sidequest begins by an eavesdropping from an dense MC staying here and listening conversations. Feeling like a crappy stalker here...

 

*Make a good inventory system. It is needed if Bioware want various features.

 

*Why is money a so limited ressource? I understand for ME3, you don't have time but in ME2 you have tons of minerals piling in the ship... let us trade a little, for a change.

 

*Don't screw up the banters. Enough of the silent treatement of DAI.

 

*Try to make a polished game at release. Bioware's updates tend to be lethal this days...

 

*Try to make a canon story that doesn't heavily involve DLCs for the sequels. Non-buyers musn't be punished.

 

*Egality between male and female MC romances whereabouts. Female LI tend to be pretty backstabbing in Bioware's games...

 

*A good main antagonist. The Reapers story failed at the end, Ceberus was able to take down the Citadel alone before disappearring and Corypheus was almost always outside the main plot. ME needs a new, serious and well made antagonist (several posts about that)

 

*Don't use MMORPG mecanics like grinding on ressources by walking in big empty semi-openworldish maps.

 

*The War Table is a F2P mecanic. 10+hours missions break the overall rythme.

 

*Don't use any "Deus Ex Machina" to conclude 100+ hours of story with a 5 minutes plot twist.

 

*Don't screw up the controls of the "mako" or "hammerhead" in ME:A. We must ENJOY this parts, not brocking our teeths by blocking our jaws.

 

*Avoid timelimit mission that spawn and stop the free exploration.

 

*Give interest in the classes outside of battles : An engineer MC must have engineer talk for exemple.

 

*Give possibility to be REALLY evil. Make the limit of Parangon/Renegade action believable : being unable to be kind is somewhat strange. (Lot of posts about a change of this system)

 

*No negative feedback on singleplayer campaign if the player choose to ignore the multiplayer part (Not an MGSV thingy please).

 

*Squad members with clothes and not armors in middle of a fight. Same about the almighty breather making people able to survive vaccum space.

 

*The close-range weapons are overpowered against heavily armored target : give an explanation to the source of this power. So long, we never had a squademate with a sword or knife : the hightech blades need an introduction.

 

*Put ambiant music in the game. No Inquisition-like style that fade away after 5 sec.

 

*A good introduction is needed. No shootout like in ME3.

 

*Lore getting forgetted : Black matter plot, sun getting old too quickly, the canal to invade the Citadel... Stop forgetting your own stories Bioware.

 

*Global interface of space flight need some work. Like not being able to go trhough a star...

 

*No magical Avenger/heavy pistol you don't even have equipped that show up in the hand of the MC and the squademates during the cinematics. Let them show their chosen weapons.

 

*No husks. Zombies are everywhere in modern gaming now. Lot of posts here show they are fed up with it.

 

*Don't use male character's animation for the female MC. Looks sometimes really horrible.

 

*Character Creator : The light during the creation must make us able to make exactly what we want. Or give us the possibility to change the face if the in-game result is depressing.

 

*Make us able to name our saves. And be able to save more regulary.

 

*No three-light colored ending with press a-b or c.

 

*The MC must have a past.

 

*If we have a spaceship, give us a 2nd in command that stay inside during our missions. If all the vital crew is on the planet, who will continue the survey?

 

*Would be good to see alien vehicules. Don't know what look have a turian or asari one for exemple.

 

*No RNG. Seriously.

 

*No big gaps between the cinematics and the reality of the fight concerning biotics powers.

 

*If you want to put sexy suit on a character, don't make it for the default one : bikini chainmail have a low level of protection, even in space.

 

*No DayOne DLC. Especially if it comes with a squadmate.

 

*PC versions : More options in the configuration menu, like the control of the V Sync. For the DLCs, the controls are a pain and most user need to shortcut them with mods. Why punish honest consumer at the point they can't use the stuff they legally buyed? Stop that.

 

*Recycled animation : Many injured PNJ in ME3 had the exact same wound.

 

*Aliens to be really aliens, not humans in disguise. Like the Rachni.

 

*No more IGN character. Looks too much like the Doritos Gate, you know...

 

*Too much Hordes modes in singleplayer campaign.

 

*No planet probing to ripoff some ressources in a timesink eyesore minigame. (how come I forget about it?)

 

*ME3 had only two options to finish conversations. Give back the neutral one.

 

*No space Jesus.

 

*No microloading in the middle of hacking (PS3 ME1 port...)

 

*Don't put microtransactions in the singleplayer campaign.

 

*If you want to make the MC jump, made some good maps where it is enjoyable. Not like a certain oasis in DAI...

 

*About the diversity of gay/trans/lesbo or other things like that : Don't put them in the game for the fun of it or because you have some plans to open the mind of the gamers. Give them some reasons to be here.

 

*If you want to make an environnement noisy, don't put people in there who talk normally. We want to hear them.

 

*No more lacking of storage while we got at the same time enormous personnal place for the MC.

 

*More tactical combat with more variety of orders to give to the squadmates.

 

*No sexual harrassement cameras anymore. Why must we have butts and boobs in front of our faces while we are talking about life and death situation?

Synthetics. Had enough of them and the agenda that came with them in the trilogy. False hope of course, but at least I hope they won't play such an important role anymore.

 

Also the Paragon/Renegade system if they can't get it right. Did they even think one minute about what Renegade should stand for? A pragmatist? A callous maniac? Just a stupid jerk?

Although it is secondary to why I posted it, I suppose it would make more sense if Bart Simpson didn't appear in ME:A.

Synthetics : For me they must have the same place than the other races. They tried to make the "all robots are evil" plot and failed at it. Enough of the antigray racisme.

Cerberus : Again, it is because you want a better main antagonist? Because, the Cory guy... hum...

Mass Relays : We are talking about a new and fresh galaxy. So far, I don't know the main way to travel faster than light in this new place. Your problem lies with the system to travel between the solar systems?

Just cuz they're well made doesn't mean we want to see them again for potentially another 3 games that's supposed to bring something else to the table.

Don't make open world areas for the sake of having open world areas.

 

I think after TW3, DA:I, FO4, MGSV, I'm done with collecting "resources" like flowers, pieces of things and rocks.

I'm making a list of general points. What is the part of Cerberus that make you so upset and that you don't want to encounter in a new organisation in ME:A?

*Edit. I just now realized that this was the "what I DON'T want to see" thread.

 

Color coded endings.

 

No ping function! No more picking up flowers or putting flags on rocks!

No game long gathering side quests! No half game long gathering side quests, actually just keep the gathering to an absolute minimum.

30+ objective markers on a zone map of which 25 are "move to this point and click to pick up this thing" is not fun.

Same thing with krogan. I killed them and am proud of it.

My first thought was, "Nothing like the Requisition Table in DA:I."

No more dropped plots. I know what happened with the dark energy plot, since one of the writers left. I try not to be harshly critical towards BW, but that just seemed sloppy. If a plot is that dependant on one writer leaving, don't do it.

The Collector Abduction was one of the most contrived setups I've ever seen. "Let's take the shuttle for this mission."

Me: "What? Are you sodding kidding me here?" <cue cursing ala Yosemite Sam>

It was a very lowpoint on what I felt was an otherwise neat sequence.

No more invisible timers attached to the final party member. I'm looking at you again, ME2. I'm referring to Legion in this case. From the point you recruit him, there is only a limited number of missions you can take him on before the Collectors show up. There is no warning about this.

There is also no warning if you do his loyalty mission about the abductions either. If BW wants to give us that many recruits, they should give the player sometime to get to know the final recruit. Using Gibbed (save editor) to get him early doesn't count. <glare> I thought 10 (12 including DLC) party members was way too much.

I'm not worried about the Reapers or Starbrat. I don't think Cerberus will come back, but I do think that there will be likely one or more terrorist/pro-human/pro-alien groups around. As long as they don't get a power boost that takes a lot of Fridge Logic to justify, I'm good there.

If I have more, I'll post later. That's all I can think of at the moment.

I was going to say the Mako as it is the Mako that keeps me from wanting to reply the original ME, but I'll keep an open mind.

I don't want to see 100 hours of tedious fetch quests and a 30 hour plot. I hope the game focuses mostly on a strong plot and companion missions and provides a more streamlined experience than DAI.

I hope we don't end up with maps with 200 ?s full of busy work.
