I'm going to change my answer to the Mass Effect series in general, rather than specific to Andromeda...

...if the rumors about Cerberus drop ships are true, and not just place holders, I don't ever again want to see Mac Walters' name in the credits for a Mass Effect game. That would indicate a complete inability to kill his word babies, to the detriment of the series.

I wouldn't advocate Bioware firing the guy, but if he can't let go of Cerberus a change of scenery is probably in order. In that case maybe he should be shifted over to the new IP.

I agree here, although I think you should make a notable exception for lightsabers.

If I ever see another sword used in Mass Effect though, I'm instantly gonna be reminded of crappy Nightwing Kai Leng. Nobody likes that guy.

I guess I never saw the Star Wars franchise as a shooter though a few have been made for it. But they did design the lore for it there with the force and deflecting blasters.

But god yes nothing to remind me of Kai lame is a good start.

A big empty world with nothing but fetch quests and colleting stuff to do in the name of "exploration" ala AC and DAI

If their Cerberus hard-on survives however many years and however many friggin' parsecs removed from the original trilogy MEA ends up being, I just don't know.

Cerberus was well-situated as a boogyman for a couple of side missions in ME1, but for me, their ascension to intergalactic superpower marks the moment Mass Effect started to suck (at least with regard to the main storyline) - namely, ME2.

All I can say is that if Cerberus somehow gets shoehorned in, I hope it's still great in spite of them.

Well said.

Out of all the information coming from rumored leaks, the mention of Cerberus is the one that concerns me the most.

Not so sure that would be possible, unless MEA is a parody or otherwise played for laughs, like the Citadel DLC.

I think I liked Cerberus the most in ME2, they weren't bad in ME3 but I didn't like them in the third game as much so I can see why people don't want them back in Andromeda. Maybe a new organization/group will take their place.

Cerberus would have been tons better if we could tell them to go kick rocks earlier than the last cutscene.

But that would have been a much different game.

Given the option, I would have flown straight back to the Citadel after Freedom's Progress and hand in the entire crew, including Jacob and Miranda.  I had no compelling reason to trust Cerberus at all.  Let alone agree to work with them.

What would happen if you were able to do that? Would Shepard of found the IFF? Would Shepard of learned the Collectors were Prothean?

Not the point.  I simply felt no compelling reason to think that Cerberus was the Last Best Hope For The Galaxy before agreeing to become TIM's errand boy..

Sure. As long as we're wishing, no reason why we couldn't have had the option to uncover these things in concert with the alliance or the council. And possibly taken down Cerberus in the process.

I'm 100% on board with the option to align ourselves with Cerberus, but being railroaded into it? I have this ship, not to mention a crew that mostly consists of people who view Cerberus with either indifference or hate, and I'm just standing in front of TIM disagreeing strongly but doing his bidding all the same? It was stupid.

Just as stupid as the alliance and the ME1 characters doing nothing for 2 years instead of trying to find a way to stop the reapers.

I had no problem working with Cerberus in ME2.

I'm glad it worked out for you?

Like I said, while we're wishing. I'm positing a Mass Effect 2 that would have been less terrible in all sorts of different ways, that one included. Steal the SR2 from Cerberus, head on back to Citadel, toss Jacob and Miranda in the can and get your Spectre status reinstated, and then go off and solve this problem by yourself with the council's blessing (or maybe even their tacit support, because hey, getting shot up by a reaper made them adjust their attitudes a little bit!).

Or - work for Cerberus, if that's your jam.

Turn's out he was right. Didn't  Anderson say its up to Shepard to stop the reapers? Yeah. What a big help he is. He never cared.

The irony of this list is that if bioware did follow everything on the list they would make a crap game. Gamers are diverse and they like and dislike different things so there is no way to please all gamers.

So If I could get the Developers to NOT do one thing it would be.. to NOT listen to their fans, instead make the game they want to make. Fans as a whole have zero knowledge about development, they have no education or practical knowledge so asking player to develop is asking a group of random people to preform surgery, it is not a good idea. And because people like different things telling Bioware 'I don't like X,' Isn't actually helpful because for every person who doesn't like X there is a person who does like X.

The best way to get the industry to listen is to NEVER pre-order sight unseen. Most games embargo is lifted BEFORE a game is released so you have a chance to watch reviews and see game play footage if you MUST buy the game before release to get the pre-order bonus. And if you see something you DON'T like in a game WAIT to get player feedback. I never bought the new star wars battlefront because I waited, did not pre-order, and saw that the game didn't meet with my subjective likes and dislikes. So I don't feel cheated or angry because I was an intelligent consumer. Don't buy games you wont like that is the best way to improve the industry and if you NEVER pre-order sight unseen you will rarely accidentally  buy a game you don't like. And most digital distribution sites have a return policy so if you don't like something don't QQ/rant and wait, return it right away.

Why am I working for Cerberus?

Because the Alliance and Council doesn't trust you

Because you're working for Cerberus.

Than why in ME3 does Anderson say I trust you? Heck he even says he just wants Shepard to find a way to stop the reapers. Why didn't he, the alliance and the other ME1 characters find a way after the SR1 was destroyed?
