Nothing has been announced as yet, but there's plenty of time for it. Tie-in media is best capitalized upon when the "mothership" project (in this case, the game, which will be played by millions of people) isn't quite so far off. I'm predicting there'll be one or two big tie-in announcements sometime in the next few months.

"QUIETPLEASEMAKEITSTOP."
The fact that you managed to post this, ahem, highly apropos reply only a minute after dreamgazer's post is both impressive and slightly disturbing.

It wouldn't make much sense for BW to publish anything before MEA launches. They've played their cards pretty close to their chests so far... why throw it all away before release date?

I hope not. Anything lore wise connecting Andromeda to the original trilogy should be in the game itself. I don't want to pay for anything but the game to learn about the story/world of the game.

I agree. If I want to know more about this faction or that or learn more about a species, the game itself should have a "database" we can access to read about it. I loved reading the codex for each planet, for example.

I agree with the folks mentioning not having comics/books/whatever. I like to hear about it in the game or read it via a codex.

Bungie did such an amazing job with extended fiction for the Halo franchise. First with novels, then comics, and finally video. Mass Effect is a MUCH bigger setting. Lots of room to tell stories that don't get fleshed out fully in game. The Rachni War. The Krogan Rebellion. The First Contact War. The Geth rebellion. I'd love to see what Greg Bear could do with the fall of the Protheans. Or what Ed Brubaker and Sean Philips would do with Omega. Maybe an anthology of short stories set on the Citadel? Lots of possibilities.
Granted, I haven't read the comics, but I have read the Mass Effect novels and I was hoping by now there would be more of them by more writers.
