lmao reveal my bottom. this is so lame and reeks of "desparate for views".
if you boys n girls wanna know the POSSIBLE SURNAME OF PROTAGONIST look no further than the only story-DLC of Dead Island.
Sorry you feel that way. Though Dead Island has nothing to do with Mass Effect.

it does. the only story-DLC for Dead Island is called RYDER White. you're not revealing a damn thing and you'd know that if you'd seen the other two threads about that very thing......not to mention all the veed threads.
Looks more like a mix of a Collector ship but replacing the hive structures with tech from our cycle than a mix between the Citadel and Crucible to me. Good job with the video, especially since it didn't give us much.
Hey, nice reveal of the protagonist's surname and nice video!

Thanks! It was very nicely placed on their part haha. I like the theory that it was because of Sally Ride, very fitting after Shep.

Kinda can see that too, but I feel that sense they're really trying to make a clean slate that would involve too much reference to the previous game, and a situational choice sense we can still destroy the collector ship yeah? I'd enjoy it if it happened, but I wouldn't get too attached to much related to choices in the triology just yet. Take them as pleasant surprises as they come.
Great vid, also, awesome reaction! #feels
HAHA! Thanks! I made that RIGHT after I woke up lol, so I was still pretty tired.

Yeah, that Collector Ship can be destroyed, but there is more than one. James Vega faces one in Mass Effect: Paragon Lost and the Reapers call in more during the Reaper War.
But yeah, depends on how much they want this one connected to the rest of the Mass Effect franchise.

OOO I still need to watch that movie. It'd be pretty interesting to see a refurbished collector ship lol
Very nice work! I wonder if the ship was created by the Council, and thus parts of the design were based on the Citadel?
The video shows Earth not burning like its seen in ME3
Modifying the Crucible design to power up an intergalactic FTL drive makes quite a bit of sense to me. Whether they built another one or took the existing one and used that as the basis of this vessel, either option works for me as long as it doesn't start emitting green happy waves once it reaches Andromeda.
Anyway, what was more striking to me was what little we saw of Earth. I've stated this elsewhere, but not on BSN, so please pardon if you've already heard it.
There are a LOT of lights down on Earth. That signifies a large population. Duh. But what I didn't see was anything green or resembling a healthy white cloud cover. Yes, we're seeing things from the night side, but the right most edge is lit well enough to make the judgement. I invite you all to go back to seconds 47 through 49 to see what I mean. My suspicion is that Earth's biome is still dead following the events of ME3, having been bombarded by the Reapers, invaded by the Reapers, and then bombarded again by the allied fleets every time they shot at a Reaper and missed.
A dead biome cannot support that large of a terrestrial population without extreme efforts. So... what gives? Well, here we go into speculation mode! I find it likely that the destruction/dismantlement/overloading-of the mass effect relays did indeed trap a large alien population in the Sol system, a lot of which settled down on Earth. I then find it likely that every other major homeworld and colony world suffered similar levels of damage, possibly even as a result of using the crucible, which would in turn imply galaxy-wide damage to every life bearing planet everywhere. Under such stress, creating a vessel capable of reaching another galaxy (beyond the range of the Crucible's destroy wave at the end of ME3, which might even have affected closer galactic objects than Andromeda), capable of establishing a foothold, and then capable of setting up an anchor for a long range intergalactic mass relay so that resources could flow from one galaxy to the other, starts to make an amount of sense.
Obviously this all becomes unimportant if the Reapers are still around and being controlled by the Shepard overmind or the unified, synthesized galactic will of all life both natural and artificial.
Well, we did suspect that Bioware was continuing Mass Effect.
1) The Citadel DLC did show that the Council knew about the Reaper threat and knew Sovereign was a Reaper. The Council's public line was "Geth Attack". They knew they couldn't beat the reapers without a miracle.
2) The ark project would make sense to have begun immediately.
3) Given that the trailer shows the ship leaving Earth might indicate that it left during the six months that Shepard was incarcerated after Arrival while the Batarian systems were being chomped. if this is the case, there is a possibility that there is a sample of all of the major races in the Mass Effect series.

If some version of this is what is indeed happening, I think I could roll with that.
The shadowy picture looks like a husband and two children. Perhaps this Ryder could be a human female leaving her family behind, presuming the family isn't somewhere on the ship, too. The voice over and images would align with this female focus.

Why unearth would they force a premade family upon the player and then LI's to choose from? My protagonist isn't a cheater and never will be. A premade family, even a dead one, would be very poor move from BW, in my opinion.

It could equally be the protagonist as a kid with a parent and a sibling.
There's still not enough info to be anywhere close to certain about anything, but I'm more and more sure at least that you're leaving before the end of ME3. I'd thought a contingency to escape the reapers likely, but the tone of the trailer leads me to think that maybe a mission of exploration planned before the reapers were even known about could be possible. It's all just speculation, though. What we've seen so far can be interpreted in may ways and may not even be very relevant, anyway.

Yes, quite true and I'd certainly prefer that option more. A premade family + LI's doesn't make sense. Anyways, I truly wish we get at least a bit more info before the year is done. Probably won't happen but one can always hope.
The aurora seen in the sky during the departure draws the eye to the atmosphere in the animation of Earth and some of Shep's dialogue seem to reference Sally Ride's words from one of her interviews.
"The view of earth is absolutely spectacular, and the feeling of looking back and seeing your planet as a planet is just an amazing feeling. It's a totally different perspective, and it makes you appreciate, actually, how fragile our existence is. You can look at earth's horizon and see this really, really thin royal blue line right along the horizon, and at first you don't really quite internalize what that is, and then you realize that it's earth's atmosphere, and that that's all there is of it, and it's about as thick as the fuzz on a tennis ball, and it's everything that separates us from the vacuum of space..."

It's a good movie. I enjoyed it.

Correct, you can see the lights from space from the Major cities. It's not glowing because of the Reapers.

Movie made me like Vega even less, 6/10.

Not unless the necessarily wanted it to look like the citadel. The citadel was made by the reapers.

There were still batarians around, but I agree that'd be a handy time to have it occur.

That's BEAUTIFUL! There's an elementary school named after Sally in my home town.
My personal theory...or parts of it at least
The dog tag belongs to your sibling, not you.
The picture is of a mother, and twin son and daughter. The one you don't play as dies in cryno due to complications, and the mother and father stayed in the Milky Way.
Ghost Riders refers to your family you won't see again (and perhaps dead sibling) which is what leads the main character to having some drive.
Other than that portion, my story theory has little evidence.
OOOOOOOO that could be good, and would work with the story too. We're supposed to start as a someone with minor notoriety, then become a hero. Kinda like DAI.
