Supposedly if you offer Vivienne the proper heart you get a cutscene of the Duke's family visiting and whatnot...but I never got it. I fast travelled in and out and stuff but nothing. I know I have high approval because she greets me with the high friendship responses.

Have you completed the other one where you recover the books for her?    I think you have to do both before the scene will trigger.    Also you must have completed Wicked Hearts quest.

I had it fail to trigger once despite completing Favors of the First Enchanter and (obviously) Bring Me The Heart of Snow White. IIRC, she was set to become Divine on that playthrough by an impossible margin, so it's possible that Bastien's family only shows up if there is still even the slightest chance that she won't become Divine.

Same, except Leliana became Divine in that playthrough. And yep I gave her the real heart.

It should trigger once you completed the Arbor Wilds.

That may have been my issue on my first PT. Once I finished AW, I just always went for the ending, b/c if you don't drink from the well, it's basically a beeline.

There is no need to complete AW, I triggered it after talking about Bastien's funeral and leaving and returning to Skyhold.

Hunh, I didn't know you can trigger this event? O.o'.. wow DAI seemed to have lotsa hidden stuff if you care to look at the nooks and cranies. I really love this game..

You don't need to do this for the scene to trigger.

 

It sounds like you encountered a bug since that cut-scene should show up the next time you talk to Vivienne after finishing her personal quest (and the cut-scene where she's grieving). Nor do you have to have Vivienne like you as if she doesn't she has that fixed grin as she states how she's gained power through your Inquisition. What a dumb ****** being pleased over making the Inquisitor dislike you.
