We don't need bad guys. We just slay anything that stand in our path.
No villains in Mass Effect: Andromeda

What if our character and his/her crew are the reason why the evil guy/entity is awakened from its aeons-long slumber? You know, "Call of Cthulhu" style, where a bunch of random sailors accidentely lands on the newly emerged coasts of R'lyeh...
And all the native species of the Andromeda Galaxy be like 'THAT'S WHY WE HATE YOU HUMANS, it was all rainbows and unicorns before you came and NOW we're screwed.'

Ugh, hate these parrot threads.
That just means there should be antagonistic force, not villain. Technically not even sentient one required, but since we like to pretend Bioware are good at stories, we'd need someone more memorable
Not really. I mean yes it's possible but given the mass slaughter that happens in shooters it would take a much more deft hand at writing than bioware has ever displayed to pull it off without going to some 80s tv cartoon tropes like all enemies that die are just robots or other mindless enemy as you suggested. But I feel like im just saying the same thing again as I never said it was impossible just that it does not lend itself to 3rd person shooters and I don't think bioware has what it takes to pull off a bloodbath style have without a enemy.
And in this case it's not a knock on bioware. Pulling off a story based around murdering almost everyone you meet without villains would require a very rare level of skill.

Sure. Just like that.
Except in color, and with a few minor dialogue adjustments.
Yeah, just replace "Pokémon" with "squadmates" and it should be good.

There is always a villain/adversary. In pretty much every story. Period.
I just don't want a adversary that can destroy the Galaxy or whatever.

Something non-sentient can be the antagonist. I won't say how hard it is to write, then again, I'm no writer. But something like war, space, etc. Anything that opposes us. It doesn't have to be a person.

Sure and its pretty easy if the game isn't about shooting everything you meet. As a 3rd perosn shooter outside something like zombies to create an anotgonist that you murder in droves and yet isn't a villain is hard to pull off. Now maybe they will go totally off book and this wont be a shooter, but i kind of doubt that. Similarly zombies or other mindless enemes aren't particularly compelling in a game where you can fly to another planet. A game where its okay for you to be the antogonist would also be fine, but I don't see that as very bioware. But a commentary on brutal colonization is I guess possible. Its not a easy social commentary to pull off without alienaiting a large chunk of their fan base.

Lolwut?
People who tell stories versus people who are the story, it's an important difference.
Shakespeare tells stories about Macbeth or other famous figures... and then you have those famous figures.
My point was just reality is unique in that it doesn't always fit what a conventional story is supposed to be, and consequently is often more interesting.
Like the point about a lover, what about Prokaryotic bacteria? Sorry if it sounds like a crass example, but since they reproduce asexually well....

I'd like to see it done again.
