I think The Descent was intended to show us a glimpse of the bigger picture without giving away everything.
There are lots of hints that there is more to this story, that something caused the dwarves to erase all knowledge of the Titans and break away from them completely. I have a feeling that at some point, this lost thaig of the Sha-Brytol is going to figure prominently, and we'll get the answer to some of these questions.
Descent DLC is so good :0

Me being meh about the DLC has nothing to do with elfiness or lack thereof.*shrug*
Not Elfy enough for me, either.

The odd thing is that while Harkon seems to have better content, after 70+ hours of running around on large maps I was kind of fed up with it, so while I played Decend with all my PCs, I have played Harkon only once...

At last I am won over enough by this game that I am thinking of buying more DLC. I already have trespasser, but after reading this post am tempted to purchase Decent as well. It is a shame that it seems to be overprice for the content given though.
While I like the Avvar a lot... Descent is a far better experience than Jaws of Hakon.
SO much dwarven lore... the dwarves are going to be important in the upcoming games.

So worth £11.99 regardless? How many hours play are there?

Depends on your playstyle, obviously, but I completed everything in about 8-10 hours. It's a dungeon crawl spread over six levels with some optional backtracking.

Well I don't fancy JOH. The last thing the game needs is more open spaces to explore. ![]()

I feel like the Titans could help defeat Solas. The dwarves are numb to magic. If you bring Solas down into the deep roads in Descent, he is impressed and disturbed by what might be inspiring the dwarves, even though it's not the gods inspiring them. They must have a key to the solution in DA4.

About 4 hours for me, the first time. Missed three gears and two mugs though. Second time through, 3.5 hours, and I got them all.

Not a lot of play time there for £12 is there? It sounds more like a £2.99 DLC.

That's normal. Between fixed costs and the fact that DLC usually sell less than the main game, they naturally turn out to be more expensive than their main games measured in €/hour. Also, the target audience are the more dedicated players and the fans, and they're going to pay more on average.
On the other hand, DAI's DLC are very good, better in their respective subgenres - dungeon crawl, semi-open world and story-focused - than the main game. I consider the three DAI DLC worth their price, even though all of them together with about 15 hours come close to the price of a full game with 60 hours.
