I am sure I used to be able to join games on my friends list, no matter what region.
Now with the recent firmware update for playstation 4, all I get are options to view in store.
This is blocking people on my friends list outside my region from just jumping into my games.
Has anyone else noticed this? Or is it something else.

I had just thought they were logged into the game but not playing.
Are you sure it's not part of the PS4 firmware that lets you appear 'away' or un-joinable?
Although knowing the way this game has gone, it's a last 'I stab at thee' moment with a parting kick in the balls.

We're region locked from public games, but we can join from friends list on PC.
Noticed this, but didn't know it was a region-lock. I just remember that before the last PS4 update, I could simply go to my friends list and join your room (or others) if a slot was open. Now I can only do so if you send an invite.
Dumb.
What is this "away/unjoinable" status Aggro's talking about? Haven't seen that, although I remember on PS3 you could set your status to "busy" or "away" if you wanted to solo stuff.
I told aggro I thought on the last PS4 update that I saw an option to make yourself invisible in the settings.
I can't find it now.....
Yes DragonRacer, it's dumb it's invite only now....or sitting in party chat. Lots of people now on my friends list that I cannot simply join anymore.
All the more reason to focus on building an open-source application as an alternative to XBL and PSN.

After the latest ps4 update I am now able to join DAMP games hosted by players in USA
At least I know now it was a Sony issue and not Bioware
thank goodness, i was feeling scared i wouldn't be able to join my OP friends for a second.
