Anyone excited to see what Bioware and ME:A can learn from Fallout 4?

More poorly written? That's sapping away my optimism for eventually meeting more companion characters. At least I have Codsworth so far, who is largely unoffensive.

Nick Valentine is awesome and you should meet him as soon as possible. Curie is also fun.

Really? I found it so much more annoying than just manipulating sliders with a mouse.

I had a hard time figuring it out.  I somehow bulged the ridge of my nose to a unrealistic proportion and it took my about 10 minutes to figure out how to fix it.  I liked everything else so I didn't want to start from scratch. So yeah, give me sliders.

The ME team doesn't seem capable of learning from their sister franchise DA. There were many things DA2 did that could have made ME3 good, specifically it's handling of dialogue options and companion development. (i.e. no forced friendships or relationships).  DAI made many improvements here and other places as well. The DA team seems to be the only one that actually looks at the strengths and weaknesses of other Bioware titles, or those outside the company, and apply what they learn to make a great game.

FO4's CC is a bit of a mixed bag for me. I like the options it provides, but I just don't care for the way we have to select them. It just feels rather clumsy. I would've rather just had the the options in a list rather than having to toggle over everything. Anyway, it's too bad that in the end, you're still saddled with terrible facial animation. Also, perhaps it's just me, but it seems like the face you make in the CC is proportioned differently when you actually start playing.

At least the hair is better.

My favorite is still Hancock...dude is basically the realist that I would be in that situation.

I didn't like Fallout 4 that much.

Hopefully they don't adopt the "limited money" system for shopkeepers. I pick up anything and everything when I roam around, and it frustrates me that I can't sell all of them because the vendor doesn't have enough money to buy them.

And I've always hated crafting. Makes the game longer than it should be by forcing you to gather X materials just to craft something you're going to throw away after 5 hours because the item is already too weak.

I do like the characters in Fallout 4. I enjoy talking to them, even if they are pretty stubborn and unwilling to compromise especially when it comes to their morals. But that's just bad writing. Too bad the storyline ruins nearly everything, especially at the end.

Maybe the one thing Bioware can pick up from fallout 4 is the type of hairstyles it gives you?

You don't actually need to craft weapon/armour upgrades in Fallout 4 to do well.

Especially if it's such a weak item you're going to replace it soon anyway.

I like Hancock alright. His introduction weirded me out, though. I mean, I talked the guy out of trying to extort me myself, so he really didn't need to stab him. If he's just worried about keeping keeping his people in check, might I suggest he try a warning of some kind before resorting to surprise public executions?

Why would you want to do that? Other than "For science"?

There will never be as good a companion as Dean Domino in FO ever again.

Still haven't played Dead Money but I'll likely be buying it today since there's a sale going on and I have the money for it. I'm rather interested in it since it sounds like something I'd love from what I heard about it.

Yeah, for science. I seem to recall reading somewhere that she liked it. I just tried it, and nothing. Maybe its only when an enemy hits her with one then. More testing seems to be required.

...

OMG Have you played fallout new vegas?

Even in F4 there is an important choice regarding which faction to side with.

Yeah, I wasn't being serious. Didn't even capitalize. I mean, it was a joke poking fun at all the people who make such a big deal about this One Specific Choice meaning CHOISES DUNT MATTER in an entire given video game, so there was a kernel of seriousness behind it, but still. FNV is like one of my favorite games.

Indeed. We must investigate this claim...for science.

I think L's point was more that in that context stabbing someone was a little extreme, not that choices don't matter. I mean, stabbing is kind of gross even at the most justified of times.

Sure, but it's a fine opportunity to make fun of the whole choices in RPGs thing, and since most of the whining about that stuff in BioWare games on these boards comes from FO and TW stans, I thought it would be funnier?

Apparently this joke was just too crappy to live.

yes how dare you fail to recognize each and every time a person on the internet is not being totally serious

The planing phase for ME:A was years ago... there is no "learning" or  "copying" from current releases ... this whole "What can Bioware learn for ME:A from X" .... are pointless. Relevant decisions have been made years ago.

I wouldn´t mind if a certain surprise in Fallout 4 isn´t repeated in Andromeda.
