Pitfall? Huh?
Pokemon and Mario are about as far as I go back.
Old Atari game. Think 1980's. Guessing you were born around that timeframe or maybe the 90's?
(I'm an '85 myself, but know Atari games because they were what I cut my teeth on with my Dad before I was rewarded with my very own console - a SNES - for my 10th birthday.)

Thanks for translating the geezer talk for me.
I didn't really play any games pre-gameboy and sega genesis. I do remember Duck Hunt was great when I was at a friends house. Loved SuperSmash Bros as well.
Played a ton of Neverwinter Nights and a particular MMO during my teenage years.
Pretty much ignored the virtual world in 2006 up until I picked up my X360 in 2012. Played DAO, DA2 on it then snagged the XBone and DAI last year.
I probably wouldn't be considered a gamer by most of yall's standards. Beerfish likes to point out that I've never played Mass Effect.

Intellivision Dungeons and Dragons... (Had less bugs than DAIMP)
Anyone remember Adventure? That is the true origin of action rpg games (Zork doesn't really count).
Played both of those. Also played a little bit of Commodore 64. I remember liking M.U.L.E. a lot, although I don't remember much about the game itself anymore.

Not playing Mass Effect makes me sad for you, but it isn't a knock. Plenty of DA fans haven't played it and plenty of ME fans haven't played DA. I love both, but DA brought me into the fold. Played DAO, fell in love, heard about ME by the same developer and fell in love all over again (it spoke to my Trekkie roots, another thing ingrained by my father).
You're a gamer, bruh. Having been gatekeeped before (just tonight, in fact), I don't practice making someone show me their gamer card to have street cred.
As I paid off my preorder of my PS4 copy of Fallout 4, my husband's PS4 copy of Fallout 4, and my DLC Season Pass at GameStop tonight in order to have a shorter wait in line tomorrow, employee bro at the register incredulously says "YOU play Fallout??" and looked entirely unconvinced when I told him I'd been gaming since I was 5 years old and he wasn't yet a gleam in his daddy's eye.
My reaction (besides 1v1 me in da Thunderdome, babby):
Son, don't gatekeep.

lol
i played some amazing games in the past especially at hte local arcade but my favourite had to be star pilot (crazy arcade console thing i got for xmass one year) i loved it so much i burnt out the screen then i got a copy of the code and laboured intesivly to recreate every level line by line on my spectrum computer, each level had its own tape and of course i customised the colours instead of just the basic green and white i had used the full 16 colour pallet.....my mate had the same game on an amstrad microdrive but it wasnt compatible with the computer my rents gave me ..... i played on the c64 and made a few games on the master system, then i went to college and wrote a robotics package for the local shoe factory (so wish i had known what copyright was back then I'd be minted now) after which I joined the military and spent my time breaking things and playing such great games as magic carpet 1+2, the complete c&c collection a couple of mmo's, and even bf2 (I finished a night shift and arrived at the store 10 mins before opening on release day for that one to find zero queue
), and yes I had the original versions on floppy disc back when computer hard drives were massive a massive 4gb which I almost instantly filled with games like dune and quake (and well probably about 40 others)
of course I had the nes, the snes and the sn64 in the house when my sisters got them for various xmas's (who didn't like Mario bros and starfox) but I was restricted to having the p.o.s spectrum with its whopping 64kb on board memory and external tape and floppy drives ...... out of pure resentment I didn't buy an actual console until 10 years ago instead forcing my kids to all use pc's and yes I made them watch starwars and startrek and lots of other space /magic stuff, the older boys have turned out just like me and also want to join the army and just as I was at their age hate all things sci-fi (I presume its just a phase all nerds go though as they try to take a different path before giving in to nature
), my wife worked out that I spent on average 1/4 of the last few years playing games, less than in some previous years (where it was as much of 80% of the time I was awake) but I have ot say I much prefer the pc as a platform although I do like the recently returned ability to use a controller which has been missing in most games since the advent of the 360 ....
doesn't make me a pro gamer just a casual mind I've played all the me and da games and loved them all both on the pc and the console, ive also played some other games and i'm looking forward to the end of the month when allegedly me3 will come to xbone although I hope they don't expect us to repurchase all the dlc's

Yes but it only has 1 map and 4 characters and no single player due to memory limitations
I think you'll find due to effort limitations the Wii version only has four maps and 15 characters...oh wait!

Didn't they find a bunch of copies in a landfill of that game because it sold so poorly?

That was a funny read. I remember when the games were crap and oversaturated. The video game industry is one of the biggest growth industries over the last 40 years. Atari was sitting on a gold mine and they mucked it up.

That's still true for the most part.
As for the gaming industry. Yeah, I laugh when I look back at all the people who thought I was weird for playing video games, now it's the norm.
Doesn't the gaming industry make more than the movie industry now?

Doesn't matter who #1 on the Leaderboard is. I'm still the best non-PC player in this game, past or present. I'm not bragging. I'm just saying.
