Heck, they could even go the Homeworld route and have the Ark capable of manufacturing its own fleet of space fighters, frigates, dreadnoughts, etc. from asteroids mined on site, in addition to its own compliment of weapons.

Homeworld is too cool for BW, though.

Yes.

Good find , when I heard about Ark intergalactic ship my first thought was a ZDF1 ; )

Probably that will be a giant ship with entire city and entire artifical eco system in it.

Also it's logical that such a ship must be heavily armed , sending a ship to another galaxy totally unprotected would be the same like going butt naked into the valley of dicks : P

The "front" looks Citadel inspired while the back looks like Reaper-ish. I'm placing my bet on some tech reverse-engineering from Reapers

The planet Ploba had giant anomalies in it. Perhaps it's some ancient ark ship from...THE INNUSANNON!?

I'm glad I picked up the remastered edition. I didn't know about the series when it first came out, but I would have played the hell out of it if I did.

Still, it would be cool to see the Ark pop open and release a newly manufactured cruiser while launching wings of fighters.

That big ship almost certainly won't be under our command. Most likely we will be in command of a smaller ship that serves that ship.

That is also along the lines of what I was thinking. I mean we know that we are going to play a "combat-trained but untested" character so clearly we have to report to someone. Shepard reported to Anderson/Hackett so whatever character we play (who isn't supposed to be as "all that" as Shepard was even at the beginning of the Trilogy) will need to report to someone.

If the leak is to be believed (no reason not to believe it at this point I think) we know that our ship will be called the Tempest, and we know that the Krogan race will have a colony ship, which presumably means that all other races will also have their own colony ships. It wouldn't make sense to make the trip to Andromeda as a fleet of ships (why have to worry about propulsion on multiple ships rather than only one) so if this is indeed the ark ship we saw in the teaser, it would have to be huge so that it can house everything the races of the Milky Way will need to establish colonies. At the very least it would have to have the capabilities of manufacturing ships, weapons, etc., so that we can execute our mission(s).

The question is, did the races of the Milky Way actually build this ark ship from scratch or was it an existing ship that was re-purposed? If the theories are correct and we are in fact fleeing the Milky Way because of the reaper war, I would think that we would be very reluctant to re-use reaper tech and bring it along with us...

Citadel featured technology for shielding against indoctrination (despite the fact that they still don't understand how it works). I'm sure Reaper Core will be totally safe under this protection field. Nothing bad will happen if I stay to watch it at little longer, it's so calming after all...

I still say that a stellar engine would have been way cooler.

The ark will probably be the biggest artificial thing in the galaxy... except for... possibly Remnant artifacts....

Wow that's freaking beautiful. Love the blue lines on the planets too.

Yeah, I think so as well.

The image is stylized, but I think that such a concept could work in the Mass Effect universe. A stellar engine would be pretty much self sufficient, and if one was 'towing' along a habitable planetary system you wouldn't have to really worry about space or resources.

Plus the best part is that you would literally be taking a part of the Milky Way with you when you travel to Andromeda.  ^_^
