Anyone else wouldn't mind seeing these graphical effects when shooting them alien commies? Do you think these effects would be fitting for the tone of ME: A? Discuss.

I wouldn't mind a bit of gore. The exploding heads in ME3 were done well, I think.

As long as it's not ridiculous and overdone like in DA2 (meaning: bodies splitting into a million pieces even tough I barely touched them).

I like to see a leg or arm blown off the body of the enemy and watch him/her bleed to death.

Or instead of just killing the enemy, wound him/her causing them not to  fire back at you.

I kinda want this to account for the fact that the enemies are likely wearing armor. So instead of the head exploding, perhaps just a big messy breach in the spot we hit. Unless we use a chemrail gun. Hot dam what a weapon.

Does not bother me. It can be amusing as heck if done well. But I play plenty of relatively bloodless shooters and have no complaints either. Halo is still fun despite the lack of bloody chunks.

The more I think about it the less I think it's needed. I like it in games like fallout with slow motion vats kills but the game feels more comedy gold than serious business. If they could some how pull off a level of gore that feels thematically appropriate to the story they are telling I'm all for it. Gore for gores sake doesn't fit mass effects setting IMO. If it makes it feel darker hey explode more heads.

No. Those effects almost always look stupid. The only time "gibbing" has ever looked half-way decent was surprisingly in Call of Duty: World at War, many parts of that game looked like Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers or The Pacific when it came to gore.

If you had it in Mass Effect, I guarantee you it'll look like Call of Duty: Black Ops III... Silly and exaggerated. When it comes to blood effects, Battlefield does it best with the red puffs rather than the Hollywood-esque concealed blood bag most games have. Less is more.

No, I don't think it would fit the tone of the game, or even make sense, thus I don't want to see it.

1982 called.  They want their style of speech (i.e., commies) back.

Just keep the head explosions. They were satisfying.

InB4 the babbies and their prude toggles for confetti and rainbows to pop out when you fire high velocity slugs at people with the intent to violently dismember and kill them.

I don't care much for hyperbolic gore for its own sake. Fountains of blood and people turning into hamburger because they catch a couple 9mm rounds is silly. I remember playing Fallout 3. I came out of the shadows to punch a raider in the chest with my spiked knuckles, and his head flew off! Raaaaaargh!

Stupid.

Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru should not have asked to be cremated in their will...

I think it may work if Bioware tries hard enough. I always thought the Mechs looked wierd when the arm holding the weapon was shot off and the other arm was just staying in position but it was pretty cool when they would drag themselves across the floor. If they make humans/aliens trying to grab their removed limb or trying to pick up a weapon if they dropped it when their limb was removed it would be alright.

Or Hawke in DA2 doing a shield bash and three assassins explode in a fountain of gore.

They toned down the effects for non-magical attacks on baddies, but a mage will incinerate or detonate baddies like giant squibs with fire or lightning attacks.

That's either a .50 BMG or comparable, or overdone AF, but if you tone it down to realistic looking, why not.
