Anyone tell me the quickest way to get through the wicked hearts mission? It's boring me to death a little like the fade mission in Origins.
Thanks.

Well if you don't care who is ruler and any of the side quests.
Speak to Lilly in the ballroom.
Check out Morrigan's office.
Return to the ballroom.
Speak to Morrigan.
Go to the servants quarters.
Return to the ballroom.
Head to the Guest Quarters.
Complete.
Should take you only bout 20mins...30 if you don't skip the cut-scenes- give or take.
Yes, I agree its VERY freaking boring. I loathe that quest like STDS ![]()
Thanks, that helps greatly. I couldn't bare to go back there without a solution. I was running around like a mad hater, clicking everything, trying to get to the end of this mission. It got to the point I wanted to murder the frigging Empress myself. ![]()
Just spent over a hour trying to find Morrigan's office. That make's around 4 hours I have wasted on this bloody awful mission. I give up. This game just got really bad, really quickly.
Can I ignore this mission and still complete the game?
Nope. It is central to the game. Personally I actually love it, especially the banter during the dance and the final scene in which you can prevent a boss fight through talking. Mind you, you do have to pay attention to your surroundings: blood tracks to follow, off-hand comments made by various people, etc. It is very story focussed and if you speed through conversations, you are bound to miss a lot of nuances.
Hint: follow the blood tracks, it leads you to an area where you can climb up the wall.

Looks like you had the same problem as I did on my first run, which is that the game does not make clear where you need to go, partly because the maps are so poor and confusing.
However, if you just watch a few videos of it, you can easily find Morrigan's office in like 2 minutes after the ballroom cutscene.
Yes, I watched a walkthrough, so was able to get past it. That mission was terribly made, so vague, so silly. I hope there's no more like that in the rest of the game.
I did enjoy the dance though. ![]()
I'm level 23 right now and still haven't done Wicked yet because I dislike it so much. But I'm good at running through it pretty fast after doing it so many times. For the first time, I'm not playing a human so maybe we'll get kicked out as soon as we arrive since I'm playing an elf and taking Sera, Solas, and Iron Bull. Not a human in sight! At least my elf isn't a mage on top of it all.
I must be the only person who liked Wicked Hearts.
I'm with you. ;-) It is always a blast! And the dancing!

There is a court yard climb up a fence and take the door in the center.
The timer is what bothers me about Wicked. I don't know how much time I really have to do things and I get anxious about not getting the timing right. Don't want to be too early or too late. I just don't like time limits at all.
Plus, in real life, I don't like to dress up or go to parties.

I agree.
The timer drove me up a wall. And when I did not have enough time to say, get everything in Morrigan's office, I had to back-track. Ugh.
And every time I watch my female Inquisitor dance with the Duchess, I cringe. Its so clunky.
I love Wicked Hearts. Tried to do a speed run and wrote down the path I took. Although it's a bit rambly it's pretty much the bare necessities with minimum fluff. (Also this post has been heavily edited, so sorry about that. And sorry if any part of this comes off as aggressive. It's not supposed to, but it can happen.)
Wicked Hearts was intriguing my first time around. Admittedly, it doesn't hold up during multiple playthroughs.
They should have more timers =).
I guess when you know where to go and what to do, it's not all that bad. You can concentrate more on the plot, it's twists and turns. The first part really needs looking at though, it could drive even the most seasoned player up the wall.
I must be the only person who liked Wicked Hearts.
It's one of my favorite missions. You win this by paying attention to people and by investigating, rather than just slashing your way to the conclusion. I think it's also more popular than you might think.

It's one of my favorite quests. It seems to be a divisive one. People love it or they hate it.
LOL! When I go into a fantasy style game, I want to kill ****. Not don a dress and a mask and chit-chat about the weather with some up tight nobles who back-stab each other for fun. ![]()
Course I'm the same way with most movies. Ugh, would an Alien break out already and kill people. Maybe a guy with an uzi? Please. Before I fall asleep.
I wouldn't worry too much about the timer... I think you have to work hard to get it at zero, and anything higher than that is fine for the adventure. Like I said, personally I liked it, but I do agree it is a bit vague at times.

Ugh....that mindset is probably one of the reasons why the ridiculous overabundance of combat in crpgs persists to this day.
BTW, what has the genre "fantasy" to do with killing stuff? I can imagine various other more enjoyable activities.
I enjoyed it the first time, even if it was quite disappointed as that wasn't what I expected an Orlesian ball to be (I didn't feel I wasn't playing the Game at all, in the end it's really fetching stuff and fighting) Though I greatly enjoy the conversations bit, I wish it had been more conversational.
My main gripe with it is how absurdly convoluted is to get a certain result, and especially how in game you lack the information on what exactly you need if you're going for a certain ruler. I am under the impression that they confused "have to work your way through it" with "not enough information".
WEaWH is not bad at all, you can also play through it quite quickly if you so choose.
