The long and terrible streak of failed Platinum solos is over.  I decided to swallow my pride, use a HMless GT with a Cyclonic 4, an Acolyte and a Hurricane, and go wild.

Highlights of the solo:

- Realising that Hunters are apparently immune to cryo ammo on first application (even when it strips their shields) and also do not wiggle dance when set on fire.  LAME.

 

- Still having six rockets, 4 medigel and 4 ops packs going into Wave 10.  Of course, by the end I had one ops pack, 3 medigel and no rockets coming out of it.

 

- That time a Phantom decided to flank me by waiting at the stairs by the nearest to LZ ladder. Only happened once, but scared the **** out of me for the rest of the game.

 

- Watching an Atlas go halfway around the map to get me before realising I was behind it, slowly killing it with my patented OnlyUseMeAcolyte technique.

 

- OnlyUseMeAcolyte technique proven to be viable on Platinum with 25 kills.

 

- Not being able to take a screenshot at the end, and so spending 5 minutes getting Shadowplay working to get a video of my score and then take a screenshot of that.

 

- The game not giving me my 150k credits.

Although iirc all geth are immune to the fire dance as part of their racial. Also IIRC they take less damage from fire, but that's very very IIRC. The immune to cryo's first application though, that sounds bloody odd.

Yeah, Geth not wiggle dancing does ring a bell actually.  With the shields, it would be the shields would be stripped, but they would only be chilled, always requiring a second shot to be frozen solid.  Just another way the Geth Hunter is a cheating scumbag, I suppose.

Fact! Hunters can still shoot you repeatedly while being frozen and lying on the floor. :/

Don't try to light Geth on fire. Or freeze them. Or do anything but shoot them and maybe knock them over.

 

What made you decide to stick with Geth Trooper if you weren't using Hunter mode and they don't panic?

^^ Well I don't have a problem with people posting about it. A Platinum Solo is no small feat. (well for most of us plebs anyway).

COngrats !  I Went the same road, with no secondary i guess, and HM ! U even have power damage on HM, and then a free slot for AC V !

 

I m yet to end a kroguard one which wld be my third, but plat solos still took to much energy or grinding for me

What made you decide to stick with Geth Trooper if you weren't using Hunter mode and they don't panic?

 

Basically, the GT is tough enough that, when I inevitably fat-finger something, chances are he'll still be standing once it's over, and Flamer hits hard enough to make a weapon a secondary consideration.

 

With Reapers, most of the units are noisy enough I find I don't need HM to be that much of an advantage, though the +30% damage to Flamer would've been nice.
