Human Adept is pretty cool, right? Of course. But Banshees can negate all of your powers? For much longer than anyone would like. So what do I do? Do I really have to just sit back and pick away at them with my dinky pistol, or stand next to them and empty a backpack full of smg clips into them? Can it really be that inefficient?

Singularity the ground where she will be, then shockwave through cover or at enemies near her without putting her in your reticle. Failing that, singularity has a nice dot and decent duration so singularity her anyways. Also don't take a dinky pistol. Talon, Arc Pistol both do decent damage. I used the Valiant for a while which also worked well.

Biotic explosions will still activate if the game doesn't realize you're targeting the Banshee?
And I don't use a dinky pistol, I use Talon, Arc Pistol, or Carnifex/ Paladin. But those first two are only at level I, the latter two don't do a ton of damage to bosses. So in comparison to my weapon users, certainly is dinky.
Give HA Claymore and take all the cooldown evolutions on your powers. Works like a charm.
Really? The game gives you two Human Adepts so it's not like I'm using a precious character slot, but that does sound pretty silly.

She won't use her power blocking ability if you say, detonate a biotic explosion next to her instead of on her. If she has friends around her, which she often does, use them to detonate instead of her. Ultimately there will come a point where you'll have to just have to plug away at her and RHA though.

If she puts up her Hand of Denial, I usually consider that a wonderful time to put a few bullets in her head. Since she's so occupied.

No. You should be murdering them with the Big, Fat Shotgun you should have taken as an adept.

I just keep throwing powers at them anyway, sometimes it hits. Also powers can stop her using warp balls and make her change to hand of denial, which takes longer than her warp ball animation.

This one understands!
Never understood though why they also get immune to melee damage during that stance, Biovar plis.

Believe me, it works and it works great. Of course, this does require you to know reload cancel and apply it regularly, but that should be a minor issue. She dominates gold matches with ease and would likely work great in platinum as well, but I have yet to try her there.
This is the build I use personally. If you feel like it, drop all the fitness and go for full passives, apply cyclonics IV and go murder some Reaper/Cerberus/geth/collecturds.

This is the build I use on her for platinum. For gold, I swap the cyclonic for either power amp, or power efficiency. Acolyte for phantoms (I generally host), and CSMG for everything else. Singularity-shoot-shockwave-shoot-warp repeat. Heavy melee anything human sized that gets too close.

U sure about that ? I have meleed quite a few of them yesterday with mark, and it always seemed to do damage.
OT: shotgun are my favorite option on many adept, especially the HA, and even heavy ones.

There is a routine in her behaviour you can use when she stands, ready to throw balls. Once she initiate the warp ball, throw a projectile power at her. She'll put up her hand, interrupting the warp ball. This would be a good time to shoot hand and head of her with e.g. the suggested claymore. Apart from that singularity on ground and collateral explosions should be good as suggested.

Indeed, and one of many reasons for why for example the Krolord can be quite frustrating to play on Platinum.
I've seen plenty of Krolord pugs running up with their melee attacks on banshees resulting in nothing at all.

This always sucks. It sucks against Banshee, Phantom, Hunter and the things that stagger you out of the melee animation.

Preatorians are imo the worst though, their melee attack that triggers their sync kill is just so ridiculously quick that the big clunky Krolord have no chance to escape it unless camping a ramp.

Last time I dared attacking the Praet with melee was when it was sync killing a teammate...

Don't cast powers directly targeting the Banshee. If she's in her walking stance, she'll put up a power-blocking barrier.
Cast singularity at the floor in front of the banshee. The radius of singularity will prime for a BE. Use shockwave through walls without targeting her directly or use it on a nearby enemy for BE.
Warp is the only direct hit power for priming/detonation. You can try and force her to do her nova attack (get close to the banshee and get into cover as soon as she gets ready to do her nova attack). During that animation, she's susceptible to projectile hits.
Or you can target nearby enemies for BE and let the banshee take damage from the AoE.
If nothing works, focus on other enemies and leave the banshee till the end of the wave.
Also, define 'dinky' pistol. Most pistols are good at handling banshees with the HA. Predator and phalanx aside, the rest of the pistols are all good. Suppressor, acolyte and scorpion are a bit limited against banshees through.

Don't have Banshee problems with the HA anymore since I work with this strategy: Prime her with singularity or warp while she jumps at you, detonate with warp or shockwave. If the biotic explosion stops her, (warp and) shoot ideally with incendiary or warp ammo. Once she screams to tell you that she will start jumping again, prime her another time with singularity or warp and detonate another explosion. Repeat. Takes her down pretty quickly.
If other enemies are around her, try to detonate explosions on them to speed up the process.
Edit: your weapon should use an armor piercing mod if you use incendiary or warp ammo and ideally you have a secondary weapon (Acolyte) that helps you take down her shields as quick as possible.

Yeah when she goes into her power-blocking phase with the Hand of Denial, I'm afraid that's pretty much what you have to do. But don't do what the second poster said and keep throwing powers at her- targeting her will only cause the Hand of Denial, and your power won't work, and more pertinently, it'll also block AoE powers your teammates may have been able to hit her with. For instance, a grenade user can hurt a Banshee with grenades while she's in power-blocking mode, they just have to throw the grenade without targeting her (if targeted, the dreaded Hand goes up). But if you target her with a power at the same time, up goes the Hand and she'll block the grenade.

Oh yeah, or as T-Raks said- you can target enemies close to her, with either AoE powers or combos, while she's in power-blocking mode.

If she was primed before going into Hand of Denial mode, does she still count as primed for the purposes of Warp Ammo bonuses?
If so, there's your answer.
And if it doesn't...well, shoot her anyway.

I have thrown Incendiary Grenades at her, then pug procs the bubble, then I still get Grenade kill credit. So the DoT is apparently still active, as with Dark Channel and Reave also, but I don't know if the Primer is still there.
