Hairs seems to be pretty hit and miss with Trespasser. What works for one may not work for another.
The only thing that I understand holds true is that players have better luck with hairs on elves. On humans they, even if the same hair, don't seem to work at all for the most part ( not sure about dwarves or quanari ). At least as I understand it. I may be wrong, it's certainly been my experience at least . Best you can do is test i'm afraid.
As a for instance, this hair worked fine on my sons elf, refused to work with my human.

If you have tumblr, you're better off asking this question to the DAI Modder Central folks. If not, you can still browse through the hair mod list.

I ended up with the choice of either Triss hair or N7 Shepherd's hair. I opted for the N7 hair which looks cool.
I don't understand how modder's can make these really nice hair styles at the drop of a hat, yet the mighty Bioware can only offer us 57 shades of bald.
I, like many others, would have paid for a hairstyle DLC. It would have been easy money for EA.

Sigh... It's not simple to just create a hair, even the hair modders would say that. Many of the mod hairstyles are ports from other games, like the tons of Sims hairs for DAO, or the Triss hair that you're using. Also, those hair mods require ultra meshes to use, which is a limitation in itself. Many of the hair mods and modders only focus on a specific race -- the race they play, which is understandable -- and don't bother doing versions for all races, which Bioware would have to do. Then there is clipping and various other issues.
And let's be real: if there is some problem with the modded hair you downloaded, you might be disappointed, but you won't be pissed because it was free. People are willing to be much more forgiving with mods because of this and hold the developers to a much higher standard.
It's not the same thing.
There are various things I dislike about the game as well, but for almost all of them there is an actual reason for the decision, not simply because Bioware withheld the shiny things from us, they are lazy, or whatever else.

I tested many hairstyles for my human female. I found that mods created for certain base styles (like the bun) will not translate in Trespasser. Here's the link to my results. I'm glad you found a hairstyle you like. Maybe this will be useful to you or somebody else later.

Note: I did not leave the Winter Palace to see if a hairstyle would show up again. If it didn't showcase my loveliness in the opening parade then 'forget about it'. ![]()
I have the utmost respect for the modders. I think I read somewhere that they have to change a hairstyle virtually strand by strand. They can't just swap out their creation for one in the game. I think what is extra sad about the existing hairstyles is the automatic sideburns and terrible hairlines you see on some of them.
Hope you're enjoying your new look. BTW, my dwarf will be using Triss hair for Trespasser (and I think JoH has same hair issues).

@nightscrawl, Well I'm sorry, how am I to know? I'm not a modder.
In my defence. This was a £60 game, and I don't think I am going overboard when asking for a few nice hairstyles. Why didn't they make Vivienne's hairstyle available to the player?
How dare you sigh at me? ![]()

Ehlenna's hair mod worked for me in Trespasser.
Also bear in mind, there is a difference to be mentioned when you say Trespasser. Most of the hair I tried did not work in the Winter Palace and Crossroads but they work once you "zone out" of that area (trying to keep this spoiler free).
Ehlenna's hair worked everywhere for instance.
Although the main hair styles I picked for my Lav and Trev did not work everywhere, since I liked those hairstyles the most, in my head I just made up that at the Winter Palace they were arranging their hair in a different way :s (sigh).
But anyway the one I linked is really nice looking and works perfectly throughout the DLC.
Sorry that's the only one I know of, that I tried.

that's kind of why I'm glad that I've finmally got mods to work on my system it's definitely one of DAI's weaknesses I hope Biowaer have learned from this mistake and dosen't repeat it with Andromeda

Thanks for the link. If the hair mod I am using at the moment cocks up in DLC, I have this to fall back on.
Having a nice hair style adds to my enjoyment of the game greatly, I wish the Bioware developers could understand it's importance.

Yeah
I think it was a shame what happened with the hair choices in DAI. Cause you had like.. "50 shades of bald" and that is not cool.
Sure I understand that it was a problem with the new engine and the fact that hair clips terribly if too long (see Morrigan) but you know what.. I'd rather it clip or be stiff than not having the choice at all ![]()

yeah so would I tbh especially as I think they did a decent job with the armours it's quite surprising like the fact you can see the butflaps and long coats flap in the wind. Hopefully the experience they've gained through DAI will improve things on Andromeda. Fortunately the Frostbite engine looks like it was designed moer with shooters in mind so that should in theory make things easier to pay more attention on the rest of the package and do a better job. I won't hold my breath though as I wouldn't want to be disappointed but there's always hope
