What do you prefer as the weapon on "tank-style" warrior characters? For me, I have used the following:

1. Greatest Hits (http://dragonage.wik...i/Greatest_Hits)

This weapon is fun, and provides three buffs (+16 armor, +movement speed, +20% elemental resist), and allows customization of the grip slot. It is also one of the few high-end swords that resemble a realistic weapon. Unfortunately, it pales compared to the Encore, because the buffs aren't really that good, and precludes a custom masterwork slot. It's a shame there is no craftable version of this thing.

2. Griffon Mace

The advantage of this is that it has 10 utility slots. Since there is a 1h haft that gives 12 more utility slots, you can have a total of 22 slots, for a massive +44 constitution boost. This combination also permits three masterworks.

3. Axe of the Dragon Hunter

A two-hand champion can out-tank a sword-and-shield warrior. 2h weapons give a high crit% boost, which, when combined with the flow of battle passive and cooldown amulet, quickly reduces any active cooldown, thereby turning walking fortress into a spammable skill (who needs a shield when you are invulnerable). Axe of the Dragon Hunter is excellent for a 2h tank, because 12 leather slots for crit boost, a few utility slots for constitution, and full upgrade slots for even more crit/utility.

For S&S Warriors:

Magehunter - if you are lazy, you can just buy it. It buffs magic defense and gains guard.

Wedge of Destiny - because it's just too hilarious not to use.

Wintersbreath (crafted shield) - 14 metal utility and an FT slot

For 2H Warriors:

Verdict - if you are lazy, you can get this sword at Level 8 right after opening the Oasis.

Rebuke of the Sunderland - if you are lazy, you can get this greataxe at Level 14 about 10 minutes after opening EdL. Plus it has great buffs: +24% crit chance, 7.5% extra damage per nearby enemy, +8% bleed/sunder on hit.

Sundering (crafted maul) - 24 metal damage (max for tier 3), you can buy it from BE, and it's a dang horse's head!

For KE Mages:

Wrath of Lovias (crafted staff) - 20 leather offense slots and you can buy it from BE

Encore (crafted staff) - party-wide MP buffs
