It's my understanding that for the first two story DLCs, you can do them pretty much whenever you want, but story wise, when do you think it's best to do them? As of right now, I think I'm up to Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, and Here Lies the Abyss.

I like to do Jaws of Hakkon post-game because going on an archaeological search for the last Inquisitor doesn't seem all that important while Corypheus is still a threat. And I do the Descent just before What Pride Had Wrought as a way of securing the mages/templars' lyrium supply before the battle.

I always assumed Jaws of Hakkon happens after the main game due the quantity of talks addressing Corypheus and The Descent short after the Darkspawn quest on the Storm Coast because the tremors were what set the Darkspawn free.

I like both after the ending. To me they're quests that show how active the Inquisition is in Ferelden without Corypheus and justify the fear in Trespasser.

This is what I'm leaning toward also. Trespasser takes place two years after the events in the main game, the Inquisition has to be doing something during that time. What that in mind, I'd suggesting completing them in release order: Main Game, JoH, Descent, Trespasser.

I think it's a stretch to say either DLC takes place in Ferelden. Frostback Basin is more or less Avvar territory and if you call them Fereldan, you are likely to end up tossed over a cliff. And the Deep Roads, while technically accessed via a fissure in Ferelden, are definitely not in their domain. Plus, Orzammar asked for help. If merely traveling through Ferelden on official business is now considered infringing upon their sovereignty, it's not just Teagan who's lost his mind. :P

That said, I do like playing JoH post-end just because it's not a critical mission but rather exploratory. Descent can be considered critical to the Inquisition, however, due to the disruption of the lyrium supply. I like doing it mid-game when I'm sealing up darkspawn tunnels and cutting off the red Templar supply lines. It's more of a "while I'm here I may as well look into this" type thing. Also makes sense doing it before Adamant since that's a pretty good reason for the Wardens to not be responding to their requests for aid.
