But...there's ME3's co-op always on MP so no one needs another.  And like you I wouldn't buy it.  A gunned up version of second life.  Ugh.  People pretending to be Asari or Krogan or whatnot, going on "quests".  Or just playing capture the flag.  Been there, done that x 1000000.  They're all the same but with slightly different terrains and weapon effects.

And there's always cheaters to ruin them too.

The fact that EA is not trustworthy. I have zero faith in them not to turn the servers off without warning and leaving console players with a nothing but either useless disc or waste of space on their HD that they can't use.

I would support a standalone multiplayer ME game, because ME would become a proper SP-only game, just as it deserves.

Don't really see this happening when EA already has their bumbling attempts at recreating Starwars Battlefront in the Scifi shooter MP category.

To add to that, I just don't see them taking established IP's like Dragon Age and Mass Effect and totally gutting out an aspect of it that made them popular in the first place. Adding stuff like multiplayer to augment it, sure, but making the shift entirely, I feel, would be a bonehead move. They'd probably just create an IP specifically to be MP before doing this.

Bonehead?

I don't see why they couldn't use the IP to tell all kinds of stories in all kinds of forms, just like Star Wars. If they want to make a RTS, TBS, platformer, dating simulator, point&click adventure, racing game, survival horror FPS, duck hunt simulator or a match-three puzzle, go for it! They just need to communicate their ideas and plans concerning the IP well.

Mass Effect is a great, well-developed IP, it'd be a pity to not see it used for other kinds of stories and games as well.

What do you mean by "support"? I wouldn't care at least. I'd let people play.. just wouldn't do it myself.

If by 'support' you mean pay money for the game, then no, I would not.

That's entirely understandable. I myself am not interested that much in PvP, but I could see how there could be an audience for it. If they did implement PvP, I'd hope they made it where you had to pick a particular faction to play as.

> Alliance

> Cerberus

> Geth

> Reapers

> Enemy gangs (such as Blood pack)

> Rouge Specter squads?

This way the battles would have, I think, a more realistic sense of purpose to them. Alliance vs Alliance would be somewhat unsettling, as it would literally make no sense.

Also, I think it would be cool if certain factions had items and gear exclusive to that faction. It would give players more incentive to switch up factions and various play styles.

That being said, we would then have to discuss map sizes, and max player counts.
