I'm probably alone with this but I personally don't mind leechers so long as they stay in the hacks and escorts. They can do whatever they want in the other waves. I'm happy to carry so they get their credits. I did plenty of charity work for newbs back in the day  ^_^

After I maxed my manifest I adopted the same mentality.

Before that though... it bugged me a bit.

you seem to be sure that people only do this because they are mean or want to make you look bad or something.

I can only speak from my experience and it happens often that I start with a silver game because I test a weapon / character  or do a challenge and stuff.

Then I switch to gold or platinum for the next game and still those typical silver clientele keeps coming to my lobby.
I've gotten pretty sure now that the "Mass Effect Match Making" keeps my lobby still registered as silver.
Those people sometimes don't realize then that its gold. But is that MY fault ??

Didn't it ever happen to you that you searched for (let's say) Geth and then you landed in an "unknown" lobby ?
Then you leave and land AGAIN in this lobby - which means that the reason was not that he had JUST switched.

The reason is that the Match Making seems to maintain somehow the original settings for a pretty long time.  Dunno why.

Aside from all of that:
Even if the matchmaking worked correctly and the Host just switches from silver to gold (because he now uses his favourite kit or something)
is that a crime ?  It is his lobby after all and your green "ready" should switch to "not ready" then anyway.

That actualy happened to me a few times. At least it's the server's bug an not someone feeding us to the enemy.

This is why I only choose level 17 or above characters. The Juggernaut's pretty handy in case things go FUBAR.

...

Correct. If a lobby contains multiple > 20 k CP and our previous match went too fast , we switch wordlessly. Of course the server cached some pending list and some poor bloke will arrive equipped for gold in game or last minute - counter ticking away.

Those ninja switching hosts normally quit directly after switching to plat (or in the the 1st round) due to butthurt from the previous lap. So mb it's less "ninja" than one would like to belief - and 90% server cache...

Had a guy do this to me and a couple of other randoms one time when everyone was dead on wave 2 leaving me to carry so I did what any smart troll would do......I quit leaving them with nothing. Don't get mad, get even. When some slob does this just lead the big enemies to them. If you get the type of teammates that die early and refuse to gel then just quit instead of carrying.

I like to die early myself so I can watch the karma

Same, but i expect them to not die and use medigel when i'm fighting 3 phantoms and an atlas. I want a little recognition too. I love it when people thank me for clutching, it fills me with determination.

Well, if they didn't die and brought medi gel they would not be leechers anymore :)

This, only without the BoTB.

I'm not yet comfortable with some kits on higher difficulties and i like to run them on silver until I learn more. My CP is around 12k and when I'm using consumables on silver I usually put lvl 1 ones. Happened to me few times that low CP host silently change difficulty.

I'm not yet comfortable to play Gold/Plat without or with low lvl gear and if I fail to notice the change, I just lay down and play dead.

That's why I stated in another thread, that there should be some type of match-making system in ME:A.

People shouldn't have the ability to jump into a gold or platinum game, when they can't even handle the lower difficulties or are brand new, so they can leech off of more experienced players simply because they want to.

This is where teabagging and torpedoing etiquitte comes into play. Unless they're a legit newb and say so. Otherwise, I typically dont let leechers benefit.

If you have low level consumables on, like you said, then quitting shouldn't be phasing you.

I play gold only. If host ninja-switch to platinum, i leave. Most of the time.

I dont need credits and i find platinum.... taxing, boring.  Difficulty wise. I find ,Platinum reapers more of less like Collectors gold. Which is what most platinum lobbies are set.

I CANNOT stand the idea of Geth Platinum. Primes from wave 1? Fook dat.

Plat Collectors have the least Primes, I think. And with the bigger "boss" budgets there's lots of big chunky slow units around. They often conga-line at doorways. Sometimes I facepalm when I see it, but it's actually one mildly funny thing in plat matches.

Cerberus have the least Primes, only one on wave 8.

I don't pug platinum so much these days but on PC imo most lobbies are set to U/U which is great. Can't really agree that gold Collectors is the same difficulty as platinum Reapers, all those double banshee waves mixed with phantoms and primes on wave 10 and 11, gold is well gold....

So I of course disregarded all of the wisdom in this thread. After playing a couple of Bronze PUGs to get xp for my Asariguard, the same host started a new PUG on Ghost, again with Cerberus. I had switched to cryo ammo 1 on the Scummytar as I didn't want to waste good consumables on Bronze. Well we were at wave 4 by the time I thought, "Golly these Assault Troopers don't normally absorb multiple shotgun hits at point-blank range."

So I checked the scoreboard and of course we were on Gold. Not the host's fault - I should have checked. We got pizza on wave 6 and the host and his buddy promptly died and got stomped, leaving :rolleyes:ME  to carry. I delivered both pizzas at the cost of all of my missles, then held out for a minute before getting double teamed by Phantoms.

Anyway, yes, lesson learned and referenced to look at the freaking difficulty level before readying up.
