When I look at the map of Ferelden it looks like Ostagar is close to the Fallow Mire. Is it written anywhere how close Hargrave Keep is from Ostagar ?

There is no such reference.

I imagine the undead kept the darkspawn away from the Mire, though.

Throughout all of the games and novels there are very few references to travel distance or time. The closest would be vague references that such-and-such a journey took a certain number of days (mentioned by Dagna as the time it takes to go from Orzammar to the Circle tower), or a (very) small number of other such references. But generally the size of Thedas has been kept really vague, probably purposefully.
