How much damage does the running melee do? For instance, can I take out regular, unshielded enemies with one? This is assuming I'm using an Omniblade and Strength Enhancer 2/3.

Yes, you can. Which is basically my strategy for most of the game. Run around the map sweeping away mooks with a one shot running melee, then focus on the bosses.

With rage, I'm pretty sure you can OHK some shielded enemies too, or damn near close enough

This is my new, (somewhat) improved build.

That's how I usually spec him (except for rank 6 passives, I never take weight reduction)... But Power Efficiency mod?

Hopefully that was a mistake? Give him a Power Amp, Adrenaline, or Cyclonic..

No good? I wanted to improve the recharge time since I'm carrying the Reegar around with the Omniblade.

One thing to remember as well. If you kill with a running melee he goes into rage
, even if you didn't take 6a fitness.

At 145% (I confess I'm not sure if that includes the bonus for Power Efficiency) the KroLord has very good recharge speed.

For the record, I'm perfectly happy to stack recharge speed, and often do. I actually like having 160, 180, even 200% recharge on casters. I don't really see the KroLord as a caster, per se, even built as such. I tend to use Electric Hammer, and it has been a long time since I've used Biotic, so I'm not sure if it would make more of a difference on a build like yours. But with Electric Hammer, which has two charges, my experience is that it's pretty rare that I end up firing off a 3-hit combo or Heavy Melee without a charge.

It could be a playstyle thing, but generally, two heavy melees (whether directly or from the third hit of the combo) don't leave enough enemies left to need a third charge. I'll usually get my refresh while running between spawns. Plus, the charges are stored, so most of the time, I'm getting my refresh back while I still have maximum uses. I can HM twice, immediately use EH to get two more charges, and HM twice again while refreshing at a pretty high pace.

With your Biotic Hammer build, you only have one charge, so having a high refresh is definitely more useful in that situation than it would be for me, but I suspect that the advantages offered by Power Amps, Cyclonics, Shield Power Cells or Adrenaline Mods would probably make more of a consistent difference to performance.

I actually find the Cyclonic adds a lot to the Warlord's offence, because combined with Rage, it makes him so viciously tanky that he can basically stand there comboing two Primes at once. He can take the full brunt of both turrets/drones and the Primes themselves because of the Cyclonic, Melee DR, and Rage.

I want the krolord to have an over-cover grab where he throws them into the air and home-runs them off the map.

The main problem people have with the krolord is the assumption that he's a tank. He's tanky, sure, but he's not a tank. If you make a mistake, you'll go down very quickly.

Instead, play him like a ninja. A giant, roaring, thunderous rageninja. Sprinting melee a light enemy out of cover for rage, then drop a biotic hammer, recharge, and drop another before backing away into cover while firing. Enemies shouldn't be focusing on you. Target enemies that can't sync while staying near ramps and other areas where you can't be synced, watching them for banshees and phantoms; once you see them on the ramp, sprint over and attack them immediately.

He can play well on plat with the right team. Playing him with multiple infiltrators isn't wise, though, because he plays a lot like an infiltrator; if they know you're there, better to retreat and come in from another angle. Instead play him with soldiers or biotics; allies that can draw enemy attention. He plays especially well with an asari bubbledept. Heavy meleeing inside the bubble will make you 100% invincible, plus give you constant biotic combos.

I would like to do the double charge, but according to Kalence, if I go with that option the Force comes just under 1000 and my understanding is that you need at least that much to stagger phantoms. But if I'm just sticking to Gold and can one shot them then I'm guessing it won't matter?

Correct. You don't need the stagger because phantoms will die in one shot anyway. TBH phantoms get staggered by krogan melee already so you can still stagger them if you need to.

I'd recommend trying the double charge evolution. You might find it also fixes your cooldown issue since you'll have 2 charges between each refresh. This would allow you to put a power amp on him. And trust me, once you see what a power amp does to his hammer you'll NEVER want to use anything else.

Once you get good with warlord you will probably be able to switch to a lighter weapon and just use the running melee attack to drop shields (2 running melees will bring a geth prime down to armor). I use a Disciple on mine to hold my omni-blade and stagger things and never really kill anything with it except Guardians. But in exchange my biotic hammer has like a 5 second cooldown.

How much damage does the running melee do? For instance, can I take out regular, unshielded enemies with one? This is assuming I'm using an Omniblade and Strength Enhancer 2/3.

It does slightly less damage than a normal krogan backhand (675 vs 700), but that hardly matters really. Plus as a trade off krolord doesn't have to actually lock on to enemies to hit them with his melees, meaning you can melee enemies that are in smoke, cloak, stasis, or laying on the ground. So I'd say it's overall better (*except for one annoying bug).

If you are in rage mode, you can one shot shielded mooks with the running melee even without a strength enhancer, up to and including collector captains. Generally speaking, possessed collectors are usually the only shielded mooks you can't one shot with the backhand. Armored mooks like pyros and dragoons I usually use the hammer slam, but if you're out of rage mode and REALLY need to get it back quickly then you can also kill them with 2 backhands instead for that sweet sweet one kill rage mode (as you can probably tell, I take 6b fitness because that extra regen increases his tankiness exponetially).

I'd recommend taking a look at this thread. A couple posts down is a rather thorough explanation of krolord's quirks and tricks (including how to identify and avoid aforementioned annoying bug)

While that is partially true for platinum, it's completely untrue for gold and lower. A well played melee krolord can be a better tank than a juggernaut. The only thing he can't tank is sync killers, and he can even tank those (to some extent) once you intimately know all the sync kill triggers. As long as he's in rage mode, he can tank 2 primes at once, eating every single shot from both, and walk away from two dead primes without ever having used an ops pack.

The trick is to stay in rage mode and stay in the heavy melee animation as much as possible. 50% DR from melee + 50% DR from tech armor + 20% DR from rage mode + constant health regen means he can run around with no shields the whole wave while under heavy fire and never go down.

On gold he's an amazing tank.

I've always wanted him to have an over cover grab that simply involved him reaching over the cover with his hammer and smashing the enemy against the other side, but yours is good too.

The Krolord is the cover and the grab all on his own.  That's just how awesome he is.

You're just not getting very much bang for your buck, power efficiency mod shaves off like a second from the Biotic Hammer cooldown (which is nothing), whereas a Cyclonic IV gives you almost 2000 more barriers, a Power Amp IV adds about 600 damage to Biotic Hammer, and an Adrenaline III seriously mitigates his slowness/awkwardness/

C-Dawg, I tried the double charge with the Power Amp, and I can't go back. Played with friends who would prime with Singularity or Warp and I took a Platinum Banshee (without shields) from full armor down to one bar with one BH. It was amazing.

I got sync killed by another Banshee two minutes later but it was worth it.
