Then you need to look up the word barrier. You're wrong..
Added we can even see with the breach in tphushed whisper that the world and the fade can be one.

it say the fade separated from the world.... Which is what the veil exactly does. That's the reference to the veil.

 

Or it's a reference to the mere existence of the fade as a distinct level of existence.

We know they existed in Thedas before humans, but we don't have any information about other continents. So we don't know exactly how old humans are.
