She's an actor. She could.

She has a great voice.

Not for the protagonist of MEA she doesn't. She has an old lady voice.

She's always had that voice. It worked when she was younger.

I like it because it's raspy. I want the male voices to be less masculine and the female voices to be less feminine.

I'm going to say Cree Summer, using her Selendis voice. She can emote really well.

I usually like bit deep and strong voices for my female characters. Jennifer Hale was quite much perfect for female Shepard, I'm not sure who could be as perfect for ME:A protagonist as she was.

Gina Torres (she work on Firefly, Hannibal, and voices Ikora Rey in Destiny, etc.)

Lucy Lawless (Xena, Battlestar Galactica, Spartacus, Ash VS Evil Dead, etc.)

EDIT:

Claudia Black. How did I forget Claudia Black? Her voice is perfect (Farscape, Destiny, DA:I, bunch of stuff)

Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica, Longmire, Sexy Evil Genius, etc.)

Mark Meer. He voiced all of my people. I believe in him.

I'm not so sure I agree, Hale always sounded vaguely pissed off no matter what she said as FemShep. Meer was better once he got serious in 2.

Worked for what? The homely friend?

95% of the stuff you want is weird and/or unrealistic. You're talking about having an elderly woman that sounds like she smoked 2 packs a day for 45 years play the young protagonist of an action game.

For one, I wouldn't mind a British-type accent.

Miranda Raison - voice of Cassandra. She has range.

Alix Regan - of course she was perfect for my Daenerys Inquisitor.

Maybe not FemShep but for the new N7 woman, I would pick Claudia Christian or Milla Jovovich.

Two criteria:  Someone really good...and someone fresh (e.g. no retreads).

What do you mean by that?

BioWare tends to hire some of the best voice actors working today.

I guess I feel differently then. Meer was okay, but I think his voice acting lacked character when Hale's had lot of character ^^

yeah Alix does a great job on my Lavellans as well but as much as I'd love Bioware to surprise me (as I loved the way she voiced my characters and gave them the kind of feeling and emotion I'd expect my characters to have) and use her voice again for the protagonist. I just don't see it happening I think it's moer likely she'll return as a squadmate perhaps playing a Liara type role as I could see her doing very wel at that given what she did with Traynor in ME3. Whether his would happe4n I don't know. I'm not against her being the protagonist as she'd do a great job I think I just feel that a Liara type role is more likely but I hope they get someone who can do a similar job to Alix though for the main hero if they don't go with Alix. Because it's clear to me she knows how to voice a good female protagonist

The plucky comic relief.

Who says action heroes need to conform to gender stereotypes?

And I don't play action games.

AWR would most likely voice a few minor npc's. Of course I wouldn't have a problem if she were to voice the female lead in Andromeda

Which is not the protagonist.

Who says giving a leading character a needlessly silly voice is bucking gender stereotypes?

And I don't play action games.

So you don't play Mass Effect titles?

I always love the huge range of how people hear things.  I never liked Hale but she didn't sound pissed to me, she sounded hollow like what I sound like when I'm trying to sound angry but I'm not.  Like I'm talking to a unruly child or something. Meer nailed it for me in how he sounded.  Too me he sounded like a soldier getting comfortable with social and command roles as the series progressed. Starting off a bit standoffish with little projected emotion, slowly gaining empathy and and the comfort to express emotions as he gained expereince in command.

Sylvius the Mad hears a lot of anger in Meers shepard but back when Me2 had recently come out and the various Meer vs Hale debates raged most anti Meer people felt he didn't project much of any emotion in ME1.  I kind of agreed with them, but I think it fit the role.  But to me it sounded more like restrained emotions as opposed to not having them.

Mark Meer is Canadian. He has a Canadian sounding voice which is kind of neutral. Although in Canada we do have Quebecois and the various east coast accents as well as border city Ontarians (Ontarions?) - people who use terms like "youse guys" - none of these would be suitable I imagine. Jennifer Hale is American but I never noticed much of an accent.

I nominate Jodie Foster, although she probably doesn't need the work and may not like the level of violence. Contralto to mezzo-soprano range (low voice for a woman), Like that husky sound.

Which is not the protagonist.

Every person is the protagonist of his own story.

So you don't play Mass Effect titles?

Mass Effect games let me aim while paused, trigger abilities while paused, and actually take no actions during real-time save for movement.

Mass Effect is as much an action game as KotOR was.
