Mark Meer was great as Shepard, but it would be a mistake to bring him back as the next game's protagonist. Having all the series' protagonists sound the same would be a bizarre decision by the devs.

That said I'd love to see him and Jennifer Hale return to voice other characters. They both have range, and could be cast as aliens who use voice filters, so they're not immediately recognizable as Commander Shepard's VAs. Also, Meer voices the Vorcha and some Volus characters. That needs to continue.  ;)

Mark Meer was great as Shepard

That's... highly debatable, personally I don't think that he managed to pull off the supposed charismatic leader that Shepard was portrayed as,

he sounded like the average dudebro, and I found myself cringing quite a few times due to rather awkward delivery.

Hale was much better, and generally in comparison to other good voice actors that worked on Bioware games, I would not rate him very high.

I had a different take.

Meer's performance as a military officer was spot on I thought, and he reminded me of many of the Staff NCOs and Mustangs (officers who were prior enlisted) I knew while I was in the Marines. In contrast I thought Hale, while good, sometimes emoted a little too much. Fem Shep would have benefited IMO had Hale been a little bit more subtle with her voice acting.

That said I do think she had a better performance than Meer overall in ME1, where he at times was a little flat. I thought he was slightly better than Hale however in the next two games.

Of course individual preferences vary wildly when it comes to who did a better job with the voice acting, which probably just points to both of them doing a solid job overall, no matter which one you prefer.

So did a lot of people but some persist in the notion that Hale outstrips Meer.

As long as it's not someone as useless as Mark Meer, I'll be fine.

What dudebros have you been hanging out with? Meer sounds nothing like one. He sounds fine.

Pretty much, I personally contest Hale sounded bored and waiting for a check throughout ME3 and didn't emote worth a ****.

But that's me.

Everyone would be bored acting over ME3. She didn't do that for the soundcheck but for the paycheck.

Xanthe Elbrick.

That's who voiced the female Sith Inquisitor, and that's who I want voicing my FemRyder.

http://www.imdb.com/...f_=nmbio_bio_nm

EDIT :  Now, I run Firefox.  As many of you know, that keeps open all the tabs that you had open when you shut the computer down.

Also, I'm not sure if many of you noticed...    But in the thread that we were talking about the fem Sith Inq, I had that thread open.  When I clicked on it, it said, "You don't have permission to access that forum."  It didn't say, "That thread has been deleted."  Or, "Thread no longer exists."

Sounds like someone at BioWare is listening to us and moving our little talk to a private forum that none of us has access to.

Elias Toufexis is just too cool to be ignored.

Although there's a risk it would end up like Jensen 2.0.

You can hear more Xanthe Elbrick in Audible, the audiobook site. For example. But I think this is the male voices thread so never mind.

A bit of trivia: Mark Meer voices several salarians too. One in the Virmire camp for sure.

although, it would be nice to have 2 or 3 different options, but I know that adds expense.  But they did do two for DA:I

Never knew that! If I ever get around to playing ME1 again, I'll have to listen more carefully at Virmire.

I'd consider playing as male if he have rough voice that oozes strong, masculine sexiness... sorry, Mark Meer-type voice doesn't elicit the imagery of rolling in satin sheets and dry humping...

The guy who voiced sith warrior in SWTOR. I could listen to him forever

^

I definitely wouldn't mind John DiMaggio. Jorge's voice actor from Halo would make me all kinds of happy but I don't see that happening.
