Here's what you do:  At some point, the RNG Store will pull up to the curb and honk his horn, and you will get into the car.  The RNG Store will then drive to a dark alley, you will climb onto the RNG Store's lap, and the car will shake for about 15 seconds.  Then, the RNG Store will give you the Crusader.  You will get out of the car and walk away, happy with your shiny new Crusader, when out of nowhere the RNG Store will run you over with his car, get out of the car and hit you with a baseball bat, take the Crusader back, and then drive off.  The police will make a token effort to find him, but he will go get his car spray painted and the cops will stop looking for some reason.

It doesn't matter whether your rares are maxed, does it? I'm pretty sure it's a flat 7.5% chance, unaffected by anything.

It does matter. If you have rares to still get then that slot can drop those and the pool gets larger. A larger pool means you have a lower chance. It's based on class of weapon though and not each individual weapon. So if you are missing all your rares or just missing 1, it still adds rares to the pool.

This is not correct at all.  Each Gold slot has a 7.5% chance of dropping an UR.  If the RNG determines the slot to be "UR", then the store randomly decides which UR you will get.  If the RNG determines the slot to be "Rare", then the store randomly decides which Rare you will get.  The determination of whether the slot is "Rare" or "Ultra-Rare" is independent of your manifest.

You can argue all you want but since the number you are quoting is directly from me you're still wrong. If you have no more rares to get than that class is removed from the pool and the total weight of the pool is reduced. Slots are designated specific categories of cards.

7.5% drop rate is known because I am the person who reported it when I decompiled the balance changes file. It also described all of the contents in the store and how pools are defined and the weight of each item in each pool.

OK, thanks for doing that, because I would have no idea how to do it myself.

I still think you're wrong though.

I am not positive either way but I thought it was more like what Miniditka is saying.  Even if you have all the rare guns unlocked, it is still a 7.5% chance at a UR.  The chance for a Rare is still the same, as you can still get rares in the form of level IV equipment.  Before maxing my Rares, I almost never got IV equipment (I got 1 EVER), but once I did, I got it all the time instead of Rare guns.  Just my observation.

Actually Mgamerz, you confirmed what was already known.

Comradeshepard compiled the UR drop rate data by getting BSNers to report on their purchases with various packs. I believe it was a pool of 2000 of each type of pack with guaranteed rare cards. The drop rate worked out to a flat %7.5 per rare card slot for all packs.

Now you raise an interesting point, as everyone (or almost everyone) contributing to that data did probably have maxed rares at the time (I know I did), so that may have thrown off the calculation.

It seems odd that there would be a difference between those with maxed rares vs those without. I found when one group of rares was maxed (say, characters), when the RNG gave another character card, it instead became a level IV consumable in its place. Same with guns, gears, etc. .. so there was always still the chance of rolling rare cards in any category, even after they were maxed out. It's because of that it seems unlikely the drop rate for URs would change

There are specialized pools like gold and goldconsumable goldmp4gun etc. If you max out goldmp4gun why would it ever choose that pool?

The background color of the card has literally nothing to do with its drop rate. See the N7 characters.

You're all wrong. Numbers, pff. This is what "I" found out a loong time ago:

The who knows what factors are already known. They have been disclosed to me in a dream about 1 year and 36 days. I have it all scribbled up somewhere here but I can't be arsed to post pictures now.

I've been offering this information against a modest fee for the Worthy but since Cashsuit runs rampant I can as well bestow this wisdom upon you as well:

You have to sacrifice a PuG in the Reactor. It has to be Gold involved. 3 PuGs is the cap. You will smile each Thursday on the purchase of two Arsenal packs around midnight Helsinki time. Don't look behind while you enter the store. A toothbrush may topple while you do it and give you a funny feeling.

Your : "I have it all scribbled up somewhere here but I can't..."

sounds like the infamous Fermat on his last theorem :
"Hanc marginis exiguitas non carperet."

->I have the answer but the margin is too narrow to scribble it all.

...And became an almost 400 year old mystery, with the solver honored by a Nobel prize. Who knows...

OP, every rare card you get from a pack has a %7.5 chance to be a random UR. Period

You need to get lucky to land the UR you really want.

Also, some friendly advice here, considering buying some lower value packs to build up your consumables.

Is this true only for the Premium Spectre Pack? Because as I understood it, you had a 2.5% chance out of the Arsenal and Character packs, but a 7.5% out of the Premium Spectres. Before anyone asks, yes, my Rare Weapons are maxed, and I still seem to get more URs out of Premiums than Arsenals. Still working on Rare Characters though, letting that happen as I grab the Premiums hoping for URs. Really wanna try out the CSMG.

every pack that has a gold card gives you 7,5% (2x 7,5 = 15% btw)

so you can get the best weapon already as beginner if you are lucky.

2,5% is not true. I strongly believe it is always 7,5

Since Fermat was brought up it's time to look at Comradeshepard's BSN proof and see for yourself whether it's correct.
