It needs to happen, don't know why they only have ME 1 available for backwards compatibility.  Was playing ME 2 yesterday on my 360 when it froze.  The 360 was always notorious for it's lack of reliability when it came to it's health.  The sooner I can play the entire trilogy on xbox one the more comfortable I will feel.  There was no excuse for microsoft not having backwards compatibility on it's console back when they released it.

also it will make it easier for Andromeda as im sure you'll be able to carry events over from the first trilogy, so if its all on one console then that would make it so much simpler instead of having to log into the servers just to access all your data on the other two games

"stop speaking for every single PC Gamer out there".

Stop speaking for PC Gamer's period. You aren't one. I asked for proof of any PC Gamer on this forum wanting no controller support in any game ever. You provided no proof, because the statement you made was BS.

"There are PC Gamers getting their info at sites like IGN ."

No there isn't. More PC Gamers watch videos making fun of IGN's lies and BS (lot to choose from) than getting any information for PC Gaming or PC's there lol. Example.

"Gamespot, Polygon, The Escapist, and various youtubers."

Nope, Heck no, and nope. Youtubers. Yes. PC Gamer (which focuses on PC Gaming) can't even make decent money and views off us. That is how little we trust, or care about "gaming journalism". Add to that? We have Adblock on and only take it off for sites we really care about...

Example with PC Gamer? This is what they have to resort to, to get ad money. A CONSOLE EXCLUSIVE LOL. They promoted a CONSOLE ONLY GAME on PC Gamer...L O L. Even this clickbait, desperate article only got like 300 responses, and most of them were laughing at the "game journalist" and PC Gamer as a whole.

Oh and even funnier. They had to resort to Kotaku, click/bait to pay their bills this month. Only problem? They lost even more of the FEW PC Gamer's (usually new to the platform) that care about them whatsoever.

"You can watch an episode of The Jimquisition called "Blacklisted" on Jim Sterling's youtube channel, it's a fairly recent episode for more details if you want now whether you believe it or not that is your business."

Sorry I am not watching Jim Sterling. He is a complete hypocrite, now endorses the same people and agendas he slammed in the past (for money, because he is funded by donations) and I could care less what he thinks about games or anything really. If I wanted to be a hypocrite, aging "swinger" (see comments him and his wife have made)? I might listen to Jim. Jim is a sleazy, fast talking,  used car salesman doing game journalism, who can't even keep his wife from sleeping around. WTF am I going to learn from him?

"Don't tell me that there are no mods with viruses and malware in them." Another person that is making the insane argument that right clicking and scanning a file is hard. The only thing remotely close to a virus or malware I have had in a decade is Windows 10. The entire OS is malware.

lmfao how did this turn into a le gamergate thread.

I am thinking they will just end up doing something similar to the Dragon Age Keep.

I strongly hope that there is nothing to import from the original trilogy. I love the series above all others, but I want a 100% clean start. Small details can be handled via conversational cues, if necessary, as was done in KotOR2. Even there, though, that was a direct sequel. I hope, and honestly expect, a clean start with no import feature.

Why would we go all the way to Andromeda, clearly in an effort to avoid the effects of the original trilogy, only to import data from the original trilogy? It doesn't make sense.

I don't care about the previous choices either. Not if they don't care themselves. lol.

Pretty much. If they weren't trying to run from the choices we made in the previous trilogy, this game could easily be set somewhere in the 99% of the Milky Way that remains unexplored.

Doubt it. Maybe they'll reference the Canon events. But none of the endings are Canon so it wouldn't make much sense.

I think EA and Microsoft are already trying to figure it out how to make ME2 and ME3 work on the Xbone.

They just need more time...

Just finished my first playthrough of ME1 on console.  Makes for a much different experience than on PC.  I'm not sure if it's because I played the game on the XB1, but man it dropped to single digit frame rates in combat constantly.  Hope it isn't like that for the next two.

Really? I played Mass Effect 1 on Xbox One and the framerate never dropped for me. That's weird.

One of the Halos had really bad frame rates on the XB1 as well.  I just assumed it was part of the backwards compatibility issues.

Yeah, I heard Halo: Reach had that like when a mission started. Though I heard they fixed or are fixing that game's issues.

Remember folks, backwards compatibility on xb1 is done via an emulator. Those are ALWAYS glitchy and prone to mess ups. Even doing backwards compatibility to the original Xbox from the 360 had it's issues. Even the best pc rigs can have issues running a ps1 emulator.

True, but the emulation is being done by people with insider knowledge (MS).  The unofficial PC emulators don't have that kind of support.

Yes MS has insider information. In fact current 360 runs a modified variant of windows 7 or 8 so it wouldn't be too hard. However the 360 games are specialized for a very narrow scale of hardware which is where the issue lies, not the software.

That, and the XB1 is a turd when it comes to hardware.  Basically a low end laptop apu with 8 cores slapped on.

Maybe I should have played it on the 360 then.  Do the sequels have the same issue?

No they do not. They ran at a locked 30fps. ME1 ran between 20-30, never really stayed at 30 though.

I doubt they are going to be importing enough choices if any at all to make it worthwhile to make a game two games backwards compatible and expect people to buy them for a choice import.  If they do that I could see the cries of how unfair that is to consumers to expect them to shell out that much money for the chance to import data.  If there are imports I bet it would be at most something like the Genesis system of Mass Effect 2 and 3 or Dragon Age Keep.

I don't know anyone with EA Access on the Xbox, but my understanding from different articles on the internet is that the entire trilogy is there right now.

Good to know.

None of the ME games are on EA Access, btw.

I was sure, there would be a ME2 and ME3 xbox.com/backcompat release announcement at E3 this year.

Fingers crossed it's still happening and would certainly be a nice way to bridge the waiting time gap to MEA.

For those who don't know, ME2 & 3 have both been on the future release list for about a month. It's just a matter of getting them released. According to my research, EA had both titles approved for release within a matter of days of Microsoft resolving the multi-disc issue, it's really just a waiting game now.

(And for anyone who's wondering about say Skyrim or Oblivion, word is those are not going back-comp but that there will be collector edition releases of both games with updated graphics for the One.)

I don't know about Oblivion, but they confirmed Skyrim at E3 this year.
