Hello!

Do you think it's possible to such group exist? Not organized, just "people people". I would really like that, it would be amazing. Your boss is a douchebag, so you ask his maiden to leave his office opened one time... and let's stop for now. That is what Sera doesn't do - take responisibility. What if maiden get fired? You could take keys from her, do the prank and close the office, then drop keys somwhere for her to find, but... The more I think, the less I like the idea, but still - Solas mentions one of Fade memories. A qunari servant always did something with her master sweets or bread (adding little salt, I think?) and that was her small rebel. Doing pranks and make day horrible for rich douchebags. That's the idea. Soften them, make them fear, let them know they're not above anyone. Not violence, ofc - especially arrows in the face - but "no breeches" is allowed.

Well, the Red Jennies are supposed to be medieval Anonymous. Also, the Red Jennies seem to mostly rely on harmless pranks if the offending noble is just a jerk.

Yup. Anonymous. Love 'em, hate 'em, tolerate 'em... they are the "normal person" working in the shadows against those in power.

I generally don't like pranks because there is typically an element of meanness to them. Yeah... parents that tell their kids they ate all of the Halloween candy, film their kids' horrified/devastated/tearful reactions and send them to Jimmy Kimmel (he does this every year)? They are a-holes. And yes, I do consider that I have a sense of humor, just not about that kind of crap.

I tolerate what Sera does because it's just a game, but I would not like her, or her ilk, in real life and would not associate with them. Plus, there is a high probability that the supposedly harmless prank gets some innocent bystander caught in the middle, like getting punished in place of the real offender because someone has to take the blame, right?

I probably wouldn't like a massive military organization build around the leadership of a dictatorial messiah figure in irl. Also, its not as if no innocents ever die or get hurt when the Inquisition does a mission.

Anyways, if those pranks are directed to the upper class of a feudal system that regularly abuses its lower classes and if said lower class members are the ones that call on Red Jennies to help them out I really don't see the problem. I mean, if anyone needs to be humbled its the nobility.

But the OP was asking about Red Jenny existing in real life, even giving an example using the boss of an "office." Most of the things we do in these games are not acceptable by modern standards of society. But that doesn't mean I'm not happy to murder knife that child rapist in DA2, even if I can't do so IRL.

Quite right. Trying to put this game in a real world context is incredibly troubling. Cassandra uses torture, some of Leliana's convert actions are immoral at best, Iron Bull forces you to be a submissive, Blackwall arguably has sex you under false pretenses which can be called rape, the Red Jennies are by definition terrorists, Cole invades people's very thoughts and manipulates their actions and Vivienne causal uses magic to inspire fear.

Hmm. Maybe fiction should stay in a fictional world.

Sounds more like Lizard Squad to me.

He doesn't force you - he just makes it clear that he's only interested in domming if the two of you are going to be in a relationship. You can tell him to hit the bricks if you're not interested. There are plenty of people who feel that way IRL.

Anonymous has actually done good, though.

As far as I know, LS has only done harm. And their attacks on digital networks did financial damage, so they're not even playful but harmless.

The Red Jennies, like Anonymous, have actually done good. Lizard Squad and the people who comprise it are human garbage who can all die and the world wouldn't blink an eye for their passing.

Yeah, Anonymous does sound like Red Jennies. But still, it's only possible online, not irl. I also don't believe they're just some group. I think everyone can be Anonymous, using his skills to do something right, to oppose those above. My country is really divided and it should only be US and THEM (politics, media).

I meant by Pranks. I no LS are butt holes. Anonymous is more political.

Lizard Squad hardly "prank". They called a fake bomb threat on a plane carrying the former CEO of Sony Online Entertainment, for no reason whatsoever. They're not pranksters, they're criminals.
