I am currently planning my next few trilogy playthroughs.

For one Shepard, I plan to play as an Engineer with Stasis in ME2. In case you are curious, here is the planned ME2 build (I have tested it out before);

1 - Overload
0 - Incinerate
4 - Attack Drone
4 - Full Cryo Blast
4 - Improved AI Hacking
4 - Mechanic
4 - Enhanced/Deep Stasis

But I am having trouble deciding which class Shepard should be in ME1 first:
 - Engineer with Stasis
 - Infiltrator with Stasis
 - Sentinel (probably with AI Hacking as a bonus power, or maybe a second weapon)

I think I should stick with the Engineer to be consistent, but...
 - Engineer is probably my least favorite class in ME1.
 - The Infiltrator has Electronics and Decryption for unlocking, is more durable with Medium armor and Immunity, and I generally do not miss Hacking or Neural Shock.
 - Sentinel is already the combined Tech+Biotic hybrid, and has Stasis. It has Ectronics and Decryption for unlocking. I could take Hacking as the bonus power, or a second weapon as a bonus power since Sentinel can only get Basic Marksman. The Bastion specialization allows you to damage enemies in Stasis.

What do you people think?

I'd go with the Engineer, so Shepard stays consistent across the games but the Sentinel would offer you more variety by allowing a weapons upgrade. You could also headcanon that the rebuilding process in ME2 somehow removed the biotic abilities.

Changed my mind. Go with Sentinel.

For the record, I went with the Engineer class in ME1, (likely) despite my better judgement.
