There is not much to discuss on the DA forums right now blah blah blah endless prattle.

I just imagine poor neglected message boards of games you actually do like. I'm sure they get jealous. "Why do they spend so much time over there, talking about it, when they could be over here singing my praises?" It's a fascinating phenomenon.

True, but I don't play Skyrim or Fallout. I bought DAI expecting it to be similar to previous Bioware games (boring planet exploration of ME1 excepted)

BioWare trying to be Bethesda and Bethesda trying to be BioWare caused both companies to really lose a huge amount of what made them fun for me. Both DA:I and Fallout 4 were big disappointments to me :( . After BioWare's last few games I said to myself "at least I still have Bethesda!" and then FO4 came out.

And yet you and others like you will prattle endlessly about the game. Ironic and amusing.

Because we still have a shred of hope that the next game might be different and that maybe our voices will be heard. I used to love BioWare's games and I want to love them again. After DA:I I was ready to just write DA off entirely but Trespasser sparked my imagination and hope and made me think "maybe the next one will be better?"

Well, I still have Besthuda, Skyrim didn't suck! I'm hopeful the next Elder Scrolls game will not suck!

I dunno, Fallout 4 sucked IMO and I have a feeling they'll go in the same direction with the next TES game.

I know, I'll cry if it's a horrible game... I hope they don't try and make into The Elder Scrolls Online V2 or something... I'll be disappointed by them, I rather like silent progies; I hope they continue with that..

Ha! To be honest, I don't play many games other than Bioware games. It's one of the reasons I'm so vocal in criticisms, as it's the only company I have consistently enjoyed and I want all future games of theirs to be enjoyable for me again. In the past few years, I've played DAI, TW3, the Game of Thrones series, Life Is Strange, and the new King's Quest reboot. I like older RPGs like KotOR I&II, Arcanum, Drakensang, etc. but not much in the past few years has been great for me in terms of RPGs. I played Fallout 3 and New Vegas but have no interest in 4 based on what I've heard.

Enjoy Bioware and CDPR  games, downside is they can't turn games out fast enough so I am stuck with a dry spell.  Bethesda is ok but not great with some games like The elder scrole ofline series.  Do not care about fallout series.  The more indie RPG's don't appeal me but glad so many other people do like them.  Personally think those indie games have more of a future then those triple A titles.  The cost to make those are getting out of hand and some good gamemakers got the taste of independence freedom and not coping with red tape due to alliances with major publishers.

The elder scrolls online is not Bethesda Game Studios.

Compared to Dorian, Zevran's basically a male Isabela.

I disagree entirely.  Zevran has a surprising amount to his character, but you'll never get to it if you don't become good friends with him, in which case he'll only ever come off as a carefree horn dog.  Dorian I find is almost opposite, with a lot of faux depth.

So as already said, he is basically a male Isabella. :P

So just finished my third play through of the base game and I still love it just as much as the first one.  Granted this took way too long to finish and maybe some game fatigue crept in from it but a lot of personal BS has been getting in the way too.  And...distractions.  Anyways an amazing game.  Still my favorite.  Just the bredth of emotion and I cannot wait to start my fourth, and probably last PT for a while, sometime next week.

Have you played as a different race/gender/class/specialization in each playthrough? Which romances have you tried? I'm curious if you have an idea of the choices you want to select before starting the new playthrough or if you just make the decisions "in the moment."

I generally do a first playthrough choosing what I think would be my canon choices, the second one doing the exact opposite to see the differences, then subsequent ones I'll look online to see things I've missed and try to see all of that content. I also tried as many of the romances as I was interested in (didn't care to do Bull's or Solas' romances).

Ben 1.0 (PS3)- Mage/ Knight Enchanter/ omanced Cassandra

Kara: Rogue/ Assassin/ romanced Cullen

Ben 2.0: (PS4)...well the same.

The next play through will be with Kara again assuming I can recreate her.  I think I will do mostly the same choices but I usually decide to do things in the moment and of course it will depend if I can get certain things and perks.  Like Kara was not able to save the Wardens because she didn't have the right perk for it.  Actually it was kinda interesting having a self head canoned 'reversal' in the events of the game.  Yeah the Inquisition won at Adamant but at the cost of the Wardens and Kara got a nasty scar from a Pride Demon.  I ust might be in the unusual position of having my 'canon' be my...well no second Inquisitor sounds about right :P  I also usually, with BW games anyways, do my canon PT or ust one PT with my canon character after they release all the DLC and run it beginning to end, that will be Kara 2.0.

So are you going to use the Black Emporium after HLtA to add the scar? I never did that but now I wish I had used the mirror to reflect changes during the course of the game!

Already did.  In that quest I told myself 'if Kara gets the 'low health' warning she gets a scar.'  She took a plasma whip to the face from a Pride Demon in the courtyard after Clarel.

Her face went from this.

I also changed her hair style and then I even healed the scar a bit after each main quest.  It was still there but it got a lot thinner.  I mean I head cannon the events of DA taking place over years.

Haha that's too much dedication to detail for me to do, but that's a neat use of the Emporium.

Hey I thought it was fun.  Kara T. Probably the character I have run who had the steepest learning curve and really got a lot wrong.  Though a lot right too.  Disbanded Templars/ Exiled Wardens/ Gaspard ruling as Briala puppet/ Drank from the Well/ Cass Divine....you know this was unintentional but it kinda went one 'success' one 'failure'.

After my first unspoiled playthrough I find it very hard to intentionally make "wrong" choices for a canon run. I will have a playthrough with "bad" choices but prefer trying to use most play throughs to optimize my choices. Thank goodness for the Keep for DA4

I just do everything on a pure RP basis, and let the goodness and badness sort itself out.

My last run was a Trevelyan in a romance with Qun!Bull. Had a feeling there wasn't a happy ending in the cards there, but man, that was cold.

Yes it was, I was surprised actually. I made sure my Inky personally took care of him for his error in judgement.

This assumes that I think that Isabela is a shallow character. I don't.

In any case, when I say that he's a male Isabela, I mean that he's much more forward with his sexuality, and this is regardless of relationship.

I liked what they did I didn't expect this from Bioware. Qun iron bull, Culled drug addict, Cass break up.
