I love Fillion but I'd put him as a companion character or like others have mentioned the Villian. This might also be because I'm probably only going to play a Fem protagonist.

Then again I ma always think of Mal, or Castle, or Captain hammer when the character speaks.

I like the idea, but I can see why others would be opposed.

Another option would be Timothy Olyphant....

What's with the BSN's obsession with Fillion? He isn't a particularly good actor. Is it Firefly? It IS Firefly isn't it!?

why dont they just go for clint eastwood since it seems like every male lead in every game always ends up trying to sound like him anyway :)    a mans gotta know his limitations , on the subject , if they were to make andromeda a comedy id love fillion to be the lead but since i doubt they would do that i suppose it will be some growly voiced clint wannabe

I've never watched firefly or played halo 5 yet, I only know him as Castle, which I love and wouldn't mind him voicing the protagonist at all.

Yep. I'm not going to deny it. It's Firefly. Hell, he's not really Fillion to me, he's Mal. And Mal is awesome so I want him to appear in other things.

Well, Mal and Captain Hammer.

Ever notice that Nathan Fillion's major roles are all essentially imitations or knock-offs of other characters? Mal is knock-off Han Solo. Captain Hammer is imitation Captain Amazing(from Mystery Men). Richard Castle is knock-off David Addison(from Moonlighting).

So you guys are type casting him. You don't think he has the range. Okay, then I hope he's the villain.

He was last time BioWare cast him, in Jade Empire.

I've never wanted to play that game as much as I do now that I know this.

I just realized that should be a villain not the villain, it's actually a minor part. But the villain is arguably BioWare's best so there's that.

I think the main reason I object is that he is too recognizable from Sci FI already. He is Mal and Buck. And they are both virtually the same character. Even if it was just his voice and not his face, I wouldn't be able to separate it in my mind. It would ruin immersion for me, I think.

Like the time when I found out what Archer's voice actor looked like in real life. Agh.

Firefly is like 2003 or 2004. This is 2015. There's a whole generation that doesn't know Firefly.

That's true. Still, I watched the show + the movie and wasn't that impressed by either. I do like Castle. But I think Nathan is better suited for comedy type roles, like Castle. What I fear is that Nathan would do to MEA, what Roger Moore did to James Bond. That's just my opinion, though. I'm sure many feel differently.

He's voiced the Green Lantern as a serious hero type half a dozen times and most of his roles haven't been comedic.

I haven't wached Green Lantern at all, so I spent sometime at YouTube just now. Unfortunately, I still think that his voice is too soft and... I don't know... just not for me. But like I said, it's just how I personally feel. I did watch the Green Lantern voice comparison vid and damn, the voice of Josh Keaton was really nice. He also sounded good in MGS 3, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Starcraft 2 vids I watched, while I was at it.

I didn't realize it was him until I ran through the credits. It was just so unexpected. And he does sound different than he usually speaks and VERY different from Mal.

The voice was familiar and it drove me nuts.

He was a wonderful GL in Doom. And his Steve Trevor was dead on, and funny as hell.

Buck was pretty much an homage to Mal, which I don't mind in the least. I would not mind him for a VA in Mass Effect at all.

And maybe Bruce Boxleitner while we're at it? For any number of geek reasons.

If Nathan Fillion voiced the male character I would actually buy Mass Effect: Andromeda.

You'll buy it regardless. Otherwise you wouldn't be spending all this time on the Andromeda forum.
