Something that has always escaped me is how you earn your war table inquisition points.  Could anyone enlighten me please?

The points you use to buy perks?
Every time your Influence meter fills up you should get one point to spend on perks. I think it takes 1000 influence to go up one level.
When you get to Skyhold there is a war table mission called Power for a Price which adds a merchant in Skyhold who sells influence. But you should get plenty just by completing quests and doing war table missions.

Ah!  Thank you Krypplingz.  Now I know the importance of influence, it helps me greatly.

You can farm influence by completing requisitions over and over...but you probably won't enjoy it.

Your Inquisition Level caps at 20, which you can easily reach before the end of the game.

One more thing that has me at a loss. I want the perk that allows me to unlock the harder locks, but the perks remains locked to me.  :)

For Deft hands you need to have 4 perks in the Secrets group before you can pick it. Agents count as extra points. So you'll need a total of four agents and/or perks, then you should be able to buy Deft hands.

You can see which perks and agents you got already by a little v sign next to their names. :)

Thanks again Krypplingz, your a little angel.  I am finding that the more you put into the game the more you receive back.  :)

It's also useful to have the knowledge perk in each area. Get some nice extra dialogue and additions in judgments etc.

Thanks, I have noticed I get 'special' dialogues at times.  This game is much deeper than I thought.

Agents also reduce the time it takes to complete war table missions.

Note:  Deft Hands, Fine tools perk can be gained from the Hinterlands.  there is a possibility of 3 agents in Secrets.
