Need assist from a Community Manager please

Hi,

 

EA help has told me to request the assistance of a community manager; as I have been trying for nearly 12 months to get my Spectre Mastery reset - it has been stuck at 2 since the game began - it should have rolled over something like 20 times.

I have followed previous threads, sent pms to the people who might fix it - all to no avail.

If anyone can help or knows which file I have to fix - I'd be really grateful.

There is some debate as to whether there is a formal community manager, but the person ostensibly doing that job doesn't really deal with the forums or support issues.

 

Most likely, EA help meant to suggest that you contact the developers through the community forum (which was good advice a couple of years ago when the developers were still using the forum.)

 

The problem you're describing is a lingering one, and requires one of the developers to manually reset the challenge on your behalf. Since the team has moved on to other projects, they aren't really doing that anymore. The developer principally handling resetting challenges was Bryan Johnson. He's working on another game, now, but he does his best to keep tabs on the MP forum, and when he is available, he will still reset challenges for people.

 

I believe he is knee-deep in QA right now, so he probably won't be regularly checking the forums in the immediate future. Your best bet would be to PM him. It could be a while before he is able to get back to you but he is very good about following up on issues once he is aware of them.

Thank you both for trying to help - I've sent pm's to this person - he must be busy. No response. Wish there was a file I could quick fix!

He is most definitely busy. QA is... well, I feel I am underqualified to say, because I am not a QA person. But basically, it's a giant MEGO list that would test anyone's resolve.

 

Don't be disheartened if it takes him months to get back to you. The challenges aren't part of active support anymore, so resolving issues with them isn't really possible by conventional tech support. It requires the people who worked on it, and they have to have active permissions with BioWare (ie their accounts can still access the relevant databases.) But no one like that is still assigned to ME 3, so on top of everything else, it requires them to volunteer to do it on their own time outside of work.

That's what EA always tells me when I complain about Windows 8.1 breaking ME2 on my PC.

this same thi g happened to me PiratePetro. I played a couple of games on a modded host and my profile became a real 'ol shitstorm. did the usual, uninstalled and reinstalled. went back to backup profiles. i contacted two EA techies via online chat they altered stuff and said it was okay but it wasnt, i then PM'd Bryan but never heard back.

i looked myself and managed to reset a couple of things but it was tricky and affected other stuff. the problem isnt the points it is the number of times completed that is hard to change as it gets overwritten everytime data is sent back to the server. i gave up, the challenges are pretty meaningless now anyway and the new game will be out before this issue gets resolved.
