Who are supposed to be our followers in DA 4. There are no more than 9 members in party- Bio won’t change that and some characters were introduced already in another media like books and comics.

Warriors:
1- Michel de Chevin.
Specialisation: Champion or party wall.
Introduction: one of main characters from Masked Empire.
LI: handsome war god to anyone?
2- Marius.
Specialisation: Anti-mage.
Introduction: Mage killer.
LI: too attractive not to be.

3 - Unknown DPS - we always have one.

... snip..

.. you sure you wanna pursue his romance and inquire Calpernia's wrath?

I'd throw in Rylen into the mix (if the honor guard/shadow inquisition still gets their sticky fingers in the next game. In some capacity)

Dude's an ex-Templar (fills in the slot of someone with templar ability. Unless they want to throw this class under the bus and replace it with mage killer, since southern templar's ability to combat magic is kinda non existant in tevinter), survives no matter what (HW/CoTJ doesn't matter), has wit and starkhaven accent :P

just my 00.2 :P

So...I have some random guesses about our companions. I think Maevaris, Dorian, Michel de Chevin, Calpernia and Marius could all become a companion or at least will get a cameo in DA4. Next are my favorites.

I am pretty sure about companion Harding in the next game, especially her appearance after Trespasser epilogue hints at an involvement in the next series, plus she would be the first dwarf female romance (I am usually against a heavy fan-service, but in this case I would appreciate if Bioware makes it happen).

Shaper Valta as a companion is wishful thinking, she could for example control the lyrium trade somehow and we know how Tevinter depends on it. Though I have a bad feeling about her, whole thing seemed too Cory-like at the end, so I expect a rather villainy comeback leading the forces of the Sha-Brytol as a revenge against all lyrium users.

Charade would be fun, but I think we won't get a new Jenny so soon.

What about Bevin? As far as I remember, his death if you abandon Redcliffe isn't stated, and we know he becomes a known warrior if you let him keep the family sword. I would like to see a child from Origins growing up.

About Leliana reccurence- it seems she died in Leliana's song and we have her Cole like type in DAO. This is why she talks about make and visions and her quest is about troubles with identification -  Cole has the same problem.

I this that will be Michel case- if player choose to kill Imshael then we have real Michel de Chevin, otherwise Imshael will posses him. Demons can imitate real peoples you know. The story about The Forbidden ones isn't finished and I don't this it is so easy to kill such ancient and powerful demon, evanuris -like powers.

Assuming DA4 does follow the same "3 warrior / 3 mage / 3 rogue structure, and also continues the "one returning companion and one promoted companion", my guesses would be...

Harding (promoted companion) - I havnt played Trespasser yet, but this seems like a given. Obviously our Rogue character, and most likely Bi romance (going by the high want for our 1st dwarf romance lol)

Dorian (returning companion) - Assuming the setting is Tevinter, pretty much makes sense.

Qunari Female - Mainly just because we havnt really experienced them fully (again, pre-Trespasser here). Looking at our past fem. warriors, they've both been S+S tanks. So i'm going to assume our new fem. warrior will be a 2-hander.

I'd like to guess we'd have a gay male warrior in there too, but assuming Dorian returns, i doubt we'd have 2 male-only male romances in the same squad. Maybe an npc...

Anything else is fair game, really. Take race/class/gender randomly out of a hat and make a companion. I'd like to think they'd amp up the gender ratio this time around to 5m/4f (or visa versa) rather than 6m/3f

No, no. That's just if she was killed in Origins.

Dorian since he's in Tewinter.

Harding.

Calpurnia if she didn't decamp over to Solas.

Valta. Uncertain. If the Titans do choose to engage in the coming conflict, then yes, probable.

Renn. He's supposed to be dead but I think he's resurrected by the Titan into something else.

Shale. She's supposed to be in Tewinter, no idea if she returned to her former body. Maybe not? If not, then we get a golem. :D I supposed she's having a happy time depopulating Tewinter of birds.

Sandal. The ever favourite. :D Enchantment! And the ability to appear anywhere. Locked doors aren't a problem to him.

The rest could be new chars from Tewinter or wherever they come from. Maybe someone from over the sea? Anderfels? On a thought, maybe we'll get that mysterious whatever from that tiniest cave. :P  He said it wasn't time for him to come out yet. He sounds a little out there to me but maybe we could do with a 'mad' char in the new group.

Or maybe one of the members belonging to the Executors?
.. That group is scary. They don't ever hesitate to end their lives when caught during mission and able to recruit everyone in an outpost to join their cause (war table mission)

Ok, I'll play (too tempting not to)

Warior
1. Rylen - for that Templar class (unless this will be replaced by 'magekiller' since we're moving to Tevinter, then a totally different character). I love his snark and wit (and starkhaven accent <3) and he could serve as an info dump on the Inquisition, Inquisitor + LI n friends.
2. Male Elvhen 2H wielder - just for ONCE, I'd like an elvhen KISA. Ancient/CE/Dalish it doesn't matter. :P More or less some one like Ameridan <3 pretty please BW?? *bats eyelashes*
3. Female Dwarve SnS - a charming aristrocat with long history of doing 'under the table' kind of deals, a heart breaker and proud of her ancestors since one or two of them are Paragons. Part lawyer part warrior

Mage
1. Female Talvashoth mage with sexy horn and LONG HAIR. A shy pacifist.
2. Male Rivaini Seer. Hot tempered, arrogant, he gets along well with spirits and non spirits just fine. If you can stand his superiority complex.
3. A bloodmage magister. Nice person, but very pragmatic. If push comes to shove, he will ask for 'volunteers' preferingly the willing ones, to 'fuel' his rituals and get the team out of hot water situation.

Thief
1. Otranto's little brother who can completeley stole your heart away Antivan duelist :D crazy fun but well mannered.
2. An Executor marksman -who has his/her own mission from said organization. Quiet person, unobtrussive, unasumming, always remain cool even under pressure.
3. Male Dwarve - a greywarden. Duncan type.

Just my crazy ideas :D

Well... If the Riviani Seerer was a woman (the anti Isabela). I'd agree. The Bloodmagd Magister has to be cruel, because Dorian is the nice magister... I want a Elven KISA too! A Female duel wielding too!

You know, that description of yours reminded me of one of my favourite BW character back in the days of BG1. Her name is Dynaheir (Hathran / a 'unique' mage class from Rashemen where they are reveared and respected in their native land).. -deep sigh- nostalgic feelings.
I wouldn't mind if BW crafted another character based on her.

Miss them good ol' days, but truth be told, BW has manage to craft 'better knights' nowadays (omg. Anomen. We certainly have gotten better upgrades these days  )

I hope they don't introduce too many characters in the next game. Not familiar with some of those names but some of it seems likely. Dorian will definitely be in DA4, but not necessarily a companion. Agree with lace harding.

Who will the protagonist be though? After what happens to the inquisitor in trespasser I am wondering how they could be a leader in the next game. It seems almost as unlikely as playing the HoF or Hawke as their are options in previous games to sacrifice themselves. I hope there won't be a new hero because there is so much opportunities to continue playing the story as the inquisitor. Anyway the inquisition members (or what is left of them) will obviously appear in dragon age 4 because they have a lead.

I think it would be cool if your character could be introduced in the game like they did in DAO; I mean wouldn't it be awesome if you can start as a human magister from Tevinter, or if you're an elf you can start off as a slave. I think if the background option was available again DA4 would be even greater.

I do agree with Harding as a companion too. And I think Dorian would be better as a mentor than a companion (perhaps a temporary companion at some point?)

May I make a character profile for my version of her?

Name: Imogen Persephone White (Persephone means 'Bringer of Doom', Imogen sounds nice, while White is to describe her overall personality.

Personality: Imogen is a intellegent, but shy young woman from the Circle of Magi in Riviani. She is a hardworking, and obedient woman that has a passion for reading books and studying different runes. She's often described as being cheerful and quite honest by her peers, who admire her. However, she's known for her community service to the circle (she's a Senior Enchanter) and for helping people around her. She hates boats and the seas, as both make her feel sick, and those dreadful barbarians that attack people out of greed make her feel happy she's not a sea person. She also is super law abiding and dislikes stealing (though, if she cautches a young child stealing, she's make them put it back while she buys them something else instead.) She's not fond of the Qunari, but she's not about to steal some silly book, like one of her stupid kinsman did in Kirkwall (direct Isabela link).

Age: 19

Morality: Lawfully Good

History: Imogen was born to a young newly married Mr. Daniel and Mrs. Sarah White, in Ferelden. She was their first child, and as they were newly married, so they decided to make Imogen their Heiress, as they were nobles. Imogens childhood (or at least for five years) was bisful and full of fun, she has plenty of friends and was happy with her situation. She showed her first sign of magic when she was 3 years old, but the couple tried to get a teacher to Tudor the young mage so that she could dull her magic. But It failed once she was five year old, when the Templars took her away to another land.

She arrived at Riviani's Circle of Magi, a bit scared and lost, but in good health. She eventually grew a custom to it, and slowly began making friends. Her healing Magic and her eye to runes at the age of 10 years old, made her a apprentice to the First Enchanter, where she learned to grow and delvop her magic like a good girl. She was ready for her Harrowing at the age 14 years. Once she took her Harrowing and survived it, she decided to become a Seerer, but unfornately she was too young for such a thing and as such she decided to wait 3 more years to become one. Which she did, and also a Spirt Healer as well.

Appearance: She has dark-tan skin and bright blue eyes. She also has long, wavy chocolate brown hair and a simple blue Senior Enchanter robe on, and hoodie on too. She has a mysterious smile, on which you'll guess what's she thinking.

Sexuality: Hmmm.... Either Straight or Bisexual.

Until DA2's Isabela and Aveline, Dynaheir was my favorite female video game character. I loved her, especially as interpreted by Domi/Ashara in the BG1 NPC Project. She was one part imperious command, one part butt-kicking for goodness, and one part quirky intellectual. And she managed all that without making the protagonist feel like a supporting character in his or her own game. I wouldn't mind another character with those traits, either (Mother Giselle reminded me of her, in some ways).

I was one of the three people who actually liked Anomen, though. Yeah, he was a bit of a twit, and it didn't help that they picked the whiniest voice actor imaginable for the part, but it was a different world. It took BioWare a long time to realize that some of their players were actually female. As I understand it, they'd considered making Valygar available as a LI, but they decided to scrap it an put the extra effort into expanding Anomen's personal quest (and giving players the option of deciding his eventual alignment). Ah, well, that was a long time ago... but it does make me think. Fenris seems to have inherited Valygar's hatred of magic, but for completely different reasons. I think Valygar's (ancient family curse, and his mother turned herself into a lich while trying to bring his father back from the dead) were interesting, too.

Who knows? Maybe it is time to dust off some of the old character concepts? Don't bring them back in exactly the same form, but maybe look at them for inspiration. I would giggle like a three year old if some hulking Avvar shouted "Go for the eyes, Boo!"

... You just had to mention one of my favourite mod  (love your Gavin, btw) made me sunk into deeper feelings of nostalgia :)

There is one though, that I love very much about Anomen's quest: you get 2 different flavours of 'being wrong' (for lack of better wording). Makes me look at my pc that no matter how strong she is, sometimes you just can't promise people that 'everything will be alright. I got this covered', in the end you can only promise them your effort and hope that it will turn out for the best.
I supposed they did (more or less) the same thing here with IB with higher stakes, but Anomen's will always stand out more for me (idk why. Maybe he grew on me after a while thanks to flirtpack mod :P)

But I wouldn't mind seeing another character arc develop this way again (but without the international alliance kinda thing :D) just a thought.

You'd think it's a good idea to bring Tiax back?
I agree and I really don't mind should BW 'recycled' and 'modify' some of their old characters back.
And hey, if Tali can say "faster than chiktika fastpaws" and Shepard can cuss "go for the eyes", who knows, next barbarian character might be saying, "me and boo and you"
(One can hope :D)

Giving a 'like' for these two points of your posts :D

.. btw, isn't Rylen being an ex templar means that he already has Templar abilities?
I just dont see the possibility of having 2 templars in 1 group, imho ;)

Edit: shall we make a Rylen Support Thread now? :D
