Not in single player. Looks like you'll mostly be playing multiplayer, like me.

I'm not sure I quite follow how the importance of immersion segues into the ability to play multiple races, but there is good news and bad news: The bad news is that the single player campaign will only accommodate human protagonists. The good news is that the multiplayer will feature multiple species, and will likely include new ones that we've never seen before.

What is your build evolution? Please add gear and weapons upgrades if any, plus consumables if any.

Something simple about ME1 that immersed me: The fact that outside of 2-3 lines some kind of button-prompt/input is always required to make Shepard respond in conversations. It's not so much about choice/consequence as it's simply about feeling like I'm the one directing my character and being able to characterize the character through the dialogue wheel is something that greatly immerses me too.
It's a good mix of atmosphere, graphics, music and good writing and the player-control that it takes to keep me engrossed in the experience. It has to be top-of-the-line so nothing sticks out and takes you out of it.
As a game-developer, going for immersion must be a very daunting task.

Unfortunately we are stuck being human-only again in Mass Effect: Andromeda because Bioware wants to tell a very "human" story. Sorry. ![]()

I was once a major supporter of being able to choose the species of our protagonist (I'm sure some of you remember the massive thread I started on the ME3 forum a while back), but I have since changed my position on this. I'm now glad that it seems we'll only be playing as a human, and I hope it is this way.

It's hard to say I guess. Over time I just lost interest in the option to play as different species in ME. I mean, look at TOR, a game where you can pick from various species to play as, yet I always pick human. I created a Twi'lek once, but she was deleted and I made a human instead.
If the option was added to MEA, I would ignore it and choose a human all the time anyway. So I guess I just don't care if it's added a not. I dunno...

I see, well that's too bad. I was hoping there was a good reason for your change in stance, since maybe that would make me like this more or at least dislike it less. Oh well. Still, glad you will be happy with it.

While the new species is up in the air, multiple species at all in multiplayer should not. The only thing that may change is the availability of an oldie or two (like the geth), but multi-species MP should really be a given. BioWare wouldn't have alien races as actual characters in the singleplayer campaign while having human-only sets. That would be madness.

I suppose the story will benefit from a human-only protagonist. I guess it would mean BioWare could do a better story without having to do as much work as they would have to if you could choose various species to play as, meaning they could use that left over effort (or whatever) to focus on other parts.
As long as we can play as different species in the multi-player, I'll be happy.

I agree that it will almost certainly happen. I was just saying that at this moment Bioware has not confirmed it thus it is not news.

Did they post something somewhere that confirmed it? If so, please link and I'll retract my statement.

I'm lazy, so I'm linking to the first search result that Google gave me. It confirms multiplayer, and that player progression will unlock new characters.
or even hinted by Bioware yet.

Those look like some pretty big hints.

Sure.
Here is my usual set up: http://kalence.drupa...!43B55324!E.00G
Mind you, that for tactical cloak, I usually switch from either Bonus power and extra sniper rifle damage depending on the gun.
An example, would to be to choose a bonus power over sniper rifle damage while using, say, a Cerberus Harrier, which is I think an excellent gun for this class when equipped with Cryo ammo. So much devastation.
Also, just about any sniper rifle worked for me in that set up.

We are not aliens we will never understand how alien think alien culture and so on. Like if we play Turian raised on homworld, no we not and we never know how it feels.

You can disagree as much as you want but.You will never understand how it feels to be swimming hanar. Or to be 50k years living plant or how geth think. This is why we don't have much "real aliens" this is why most aliens turian asari .. are just reskined humans. turians have no culture they are just militaristic humans.

Stories can be told. Missions can be played. Books can be read. Lore and information can be learned. At the end of the day, just because I'm human doesn't mean I can be fully immersed playing as an alien. And why? Because, I can personally relate to them in the real world? Wrong.
And seriously? Turians have no culture? They're just "militaristic humans"? Jesus Christ.
