Well, a proper HUD would have made the Hammerhead even more invincible than it already was.

I like the Mako, at least when ME1 became available for the ps3. Using a controller made it easier to drive. I rarely used the cannon. I just smash into the enemy, run them over or avoid them to get to where I need to go

Looking forward to the new Mako in Andromeda.

The only thing that made the Hammerhead "invincible" was the range of its guns.

How is combat fun when you can stand off and destroy everything at range without it shooting back?  That's boring.

Find me a vehicle that can both hit and take a hit.  Something that requires putting some thought into how you tackle an enemy.

I agree. Sensible Hammerhead tactics are quite boring. The Mako was a little better, but at anything but short range the enemies have no chance since their weapons are too slow to hit a moving target

Well, quite a lot. Some may say that ME1 is poor, but in fact it´s just unpolished game, yes it has some setbacks as a combat mechanics and mako, but it has much more to offer. It builds a story, entire universe, characters, races, great soundtracks, creates main character with some backstory, comming with para/renegade and conversation wheel and thus some illusion of freedom of role play. ME1 offered even much more, it gave us well handled antagonist which had his own agenda, it gave us chillls when we walk away from a discharged console of Sovereign on Virmire.

And in the end, it gave us just the simple curiousity of worlds beyound the computer screens.

I assumed the Mako design intent was sort of the same thing. It's a Sherman -- or maybe a Panther, since it doesn't go up in flames the moment a German geth puts a rocket into it. (I guess the Hammerhead was going for an attack helicopter feel.)

Though that doesn't explain the Mako's slow speed. So maybe it's one of those Soviet heavies instead?

I assumed they grew up watching the same commercial I did for the animal truck that could go over any terrain. Toys my family could not afford.

The Hammerhead was even more invincible because unlike the Mako, it doesn't even need a direct line of sight. I've taken out all sorts of enemies from around cover since the missiles home targets whose health bars are highlighted.
