1. Fenris aversion from mages is not hatred, I think, just strong fear.

2. But Anders approve, if you turn Fenris back to Danarius, and Fenris do not Approve, if you blackmail Ser Thrask, if I remember good. 1:1... I think, both are just bad decision from the writer, because do not fits the characters. (Perhaps both are explained with extreme anger.)

Yes, he fears at the same time, I know but also he has very strict ideas about mages. That's what I don't like. In rivalry, he gets pretty angry if you don't kill Feynriel in the Fade - I don't know if it is the same for friendship, he hates my pro-mage Hawkes so he is always rival

Also Fenris approves if you blackmail Ser Thrask according to DA wiki: http://dragonage.wik...Fenris/Approval - I don't blackmail him so Fenris always disapproves in my games.

He says he hopes, that the boy worthy of the trust, and he apologize again that he failed, and not blaming Hawke, that took him in the Fade. If I remember good... now I'm not sure... (I also never blackmailed Thrask, even in the friendship – and Hawke was strongly pro-mage always.)

I do not think that Anders or Fenris would be less deep, just different (even though I has not yet tried Isabela's romance).

They just never clicked to me. Probably my two least favourite DA companions. Anders was too different than Awakening and Fenris just felt one note to me. So I just was not to them even in role playing.

Even a small addition to attitude of Fenris:

Sebastian: It's our duty to tell the templars.
Fenris: Then why haven't you done it?
Sebastian: I guess I was hoping they'd come to it on their own.
Fenris: And then you wouldn't have to betray Hawke's friends, right?
Sebastian: That's not reason enough to allow a maleficar to walk free.

(If Anders is in the party)
Anders: You think the templars don't know I'm here? They just haven't caught me yet.
(If Merrill is in the party)
Merrill: Are you talking about me?

Sebastian: Which of us should do it? Shall we draw lots?
Fenris: Uh-uh. You want to turn them in, you work it out with Hawke.

So: Fenris is not that bad person, and his loyalty stronger, than his mage-"hatred".

To be honest, I didn't play any DLC of Dragon Age 2 so I didn't have Sebastian in my party. Actually, I hate Sebastian because he is too pious and hypocrite. I'm surprised Fenris doesn't want to tell the templars but in my opinion they put this banter in DLC because they tried to show him less hateful towards mages. Also, if Hawke is a mage, Fenris may not want to tell the templars. I know he has reasons to hate and/or fear  - so does Anders. I don't claim Fenris is a bad person though. I think he is loyal because otherwise he would have left Hawke's side in rivalry path. I just didn't like his being too distrustful towards mages.

I do not hate him because he is pious, I hate him because hypocrite (and blackmail, and abuse of his power), summa summarum: Sebastian is an assh0le!

I'm not surprised that Fenris would not betray his teammates. This just does not fit him. He would be able to kill Anders? I can imagine such situation. But betray him? I do not think so.

Sebastian is a religious bigot IMO. I just see a lot of bigoted people in real life I can't stand the sight of them in games. He even dares to threaten Hawke.

I agree. Anders wouldn't turn him in to Danarius too but he gives friendship points if you do that. I thought it was really out of character for Anders to approve slavery.

I actually like Sebastian. :D (Haha, I must be the only one.)

I don't think Fenris refrains through any sense of camaraderie for Anders. He simply won't turn Anders or Merrill into the Templars because it would betray Hawke. Some of logic here can be a little strange because of the friendship/rivalry system, but basically it's all about Hawke. B) Otherwise who knows what would happen...

Wow, now that you mentioned you like Sebastian, I tried to find a reason to like him but I couldn't.  Maybe his eyes, or name of his city - Starkhaven?    Um, I mean they are the only good things about him in my opinion :P

lol I know. But I like all of the companions.  ^_^

No, it isn't hate. But it isn't respect between those two either.

Ha! I don't know why I do. I just do. I'm not even into the religious stuff either. (Although he does share a name of a certain crab who is friend to a certain mermaid, and yes his eyes are so very pretty... ;)) I don't like that he, more or less, threatens Hawke at the end -- and kind of... ignored what Elthina tried to teach him. (So much ironic hypocrisy I know) But Anders can try to blackmail Hawke, too, so... you know. Nobody's perfect.

My latest play-thru I began romancing everyone whenever possible, but knowing the Isabella doesn't like to be tied town unless it's with rope, I can't bring myself to have anything with her except a fling.  When asked if I'm considering getting feelings involved, I always say no.

Anders asked about moving in.  This made him seem like he's pushy and trying to push his way into my home, so I denied him right after bedding him and he thought I used him, but no loss of friend points because of it, so kinda pointless.

Merrill is so adorable.  When the option is there, I can't help but to move her in.  Merrill is my dream elf in that, I'm completely oblivious, but in the cutest way possible.  Although, her trying to figure things out can get you into a little bit of trouble, but nothing you can't handle.  "There's a fire the next block over"  "No there isn't.....  OH, you're tricking them"  - haha.  I could only laugh as I prepare to fight. LOL

Huh, I've tried to romance Merril, but one Captian stopped me right in my tracks.

As much as I love Anders, I have to admit that his "moving in with you" can feel a little forced onto the player, but I don't think it was intended that way. He mentions it in a way that's like "If you really love me, then let me live in your house house with you" and Hawke isn't given much in the way of response. I don't mind him shacking up with me -- I mean, he does basically live in the sewers and is under constant threat from the templars. He's asking after Hawke's intentions, and how far they'd be willing to go to be with him. It just had a strange delivery.

Bah... sorry. Fandering here...

I should go.

Oh, haha. I wasn't sure who you meant. Aveline? (not romanceable) Cullen? (also not romanceable) I forget that Isabela is a pirate captain.

After recently playing as a female mage Hawke who romanced Fenris, I am now going to say he is the best. I felt it has the best dialogue, Fenris is the most honest and caring person when it comes to the romance. And it also feels... "right" in an ironic sort of way that he will fall for a mage.

I feel bro Hawke's romances are both weak. Didn't like Isabella, and Merill is not my type.

Anders is my favorite. I like how we get to see him struggle with his demons, and if you rivalmance him I love how Hawke can talk him out of bombing the church. Its so beautifully tragic that Justice pretty much seemingly forces him to perform the deed. I tried romancing Fenris once but then had my ladyhawke cheat on him anyway with Anders.

Isabella for male. I think that she retains positive parts in her nature until having any relations with hero. DAI final is much more interesting as she’s love interest.
