Okay. I would never expect them to be #1. With Krogan, it's never as simple as pointing them in the direction of the bad guys. They're just as likely to kill each other. They're loose cannons. And while their physical tools may come in handy, their temperament makes them an ever present liability.

Possibly, but I've always interpreted that "loose cannon" nature as a lack of purpose in part due to the Genophage.  I mean they have a history of being galactic saviors.  I sort of think if you respect them as highly valued allies and provide them with a purpose they're at their best.  And we already know the Krogan are present in Andromeda, which is more than we can say for most outside the Counsel Races (probably.)

1. Asari. The least likely species to die out and also the mission architects and leaders.

2. Volus. They fund the project and will buy their place.

3. Quarians. They build and run the machines.

4. Salarians. Research, useful once the mission arrives at the destination.

5. Humans. Flexible, good to replace subpar members of the 3 previous races (Volus excepted).

6. All the rest.

1. Human/Asari/Turian/Salarian - all Council races
2. Krogan - specialists in surviving on planets and muscles
3. Quarian - specialists in surviving on ships and tech experts

4. Volus, Elcor, Hannar, Drell - all have the same chance for their conections with the Council (volus most for their economic system), but can be easily left behind to make space for new species

Left behind/irrelevant:
Geth

Batarian

Vorcha

Prothean/Collector

o Keeper
o Leviathan
o Rachni
o Raloi
o Reaper
o Yahg

I thought this was going to be a thread discussing potentially governing structures for the Ark Expedition.

I don't think any species would be given priority, officially, since that isn't the Council way. For the most part, the Citadel Council has done an excellent job at balancing the needs of all its many constituent species.

Garden worlds are incredibly rare. I think you will find species which can share worlds and resources doing so. I don't see how an expedition like this would ever be undertaken with any participating species being prioritized over others.

I envision a system wherein the Council races are generally in charge(because durr), but leadership is divided between the exploration/sciences division, the military/security apparatus, and the workers'/civilians' elected leadership. A sort of tribunal that requires 2/3 majority to make major decisions and check each other like branches of government. It makes the most sense to me as someone who envisions the Ark as having hundreds of thousands of people aboard, and it's highly appealing to me because it has inherent political drama baked right in.

I like this but I think it needs to include all species that are present on the Ark to be part of that political system instead of only having a few races in charge of the rest of the races. Also don't think there will be hundreds of thousands of people aboard (see http://www.neogaf.co...ostcount=1346).
