Hallo,

I'm back again to ME after a three year long pause from the game.

I was sucked into ME1 and ME2 and bought every DLC and addon for those games. As a PC user I got texmod and have used about a dozen HD mods and ini.-tweaks for ME1 & 2.

Unfortunatelly real-life happened and the hype of ME3 did not cought me. Only now I have found the time and bought the ME trilogy to finish the Shepard saga.

The problem is I still don't have too much time to find out what I might need to have a satisfying ME experiance. I would like to use my ME1/2 saves but can remeber there are problems with the old characters look in ME3.

As I'll still play on PC maybe someone could tell me if there are some mods worth trying.

I have lost touch with the ME community in the last few years si I just need some handholding how to easily get into playing. And I have always tried not to listen to any spoilers and just know it's not going to end well so try not to spoil me please  :)

Thanks

Kudix

I'm not on PC, but I also had a Shepard that looked bad after importing into ME3. However you still can change the look for your character and try to rebuild him/her if you want to invest the time :) Sorry, I don't know anything about mods.

I'm not sure what else I should tell you, haha. How much are you still invested in the story? You could maybe read a short summary if need be?

You will also see your ME2 decisions if you import, so that should also be a good reminder of what happened concerning the core decisions (some of them play a role).

Other than that I hope you enjoy ME3!

Get the Gibbed Save Editor.

Overall it's very intuitive and user-friendly, and there are plenty of guides that have the nitty-gritty for the more complex stuff.

It allows you to alter your characters appearance, but only the colors (eye color, hair color) give you immediate feedback.  It DOES allow you to alter the face code, but you won't be able to see what it looks like until you boot up the game, which can get tiring of having to go back-n-forth.

You can change your class, i.e. Vanguard to Sentinel.  Your best bet with that is to go the the med bay, save game, alt-tab to Gibbed, change class and save to Gibbed, alt-tab to ME3, load save, adjust powers/bonuses as desired.

If you want to use "cheats", you can adjust your level anywhere from 1 to 60 and give yourself as many credits as you want, easy.

It's also possible to change the level of your weapons/mods, but that's a bit more difficult to do.

The more time-consuming one is the Shadow Broker intel bonuses.  Usually you can only pick one out of two options (I think 12 total), but there is a way to get both:

Check all the boxes that say "unlocked", save to Gibbed, open game, select all the bonuses on the top, save game, open Gibbed, deselect all boxes that say "purchased", save to Gibbed, alt-tab to ME3, open save, select all the bonuses on the bottom, save game, and if you did it right you should have all the bonuses (24 total)

You can also set your ME1 and ME2 parameters.

The big rule of thumb here is BACK UP YOUR SAVE FILES.

Keep an unaltered save as your "base", then save again to use as a "test".

If the "test" works, then overwrite your "base" and then make another "test".

Thanks for the information MichaelN7 & fraggle.

So I installed the game, downloaded the DLC and imported my saves: the characters look good, no need for the face code generator.

I have installed ME3 explorer ME Mod Manager but while reading the instructions it became clear there are some decisions I have to make about modding DLC content that can cause issues with multiplayer. Guess I'll wait a few game hours untill I decide this...
