I see from the Dragon Age Wiki and other players have told me that Shale does have a Fade nightmare if you take her to "Broken Circle."  During my last playthrough, I took Shale and got nothing.  The final battle against the sloth demon had to be done with only two of my companions.

So, was a fix ever released to allow Shale to have a Fade nightmare?  Or is that a "console only" thing at this point?

All I know is that it would involve a lot of birds.

Shale has a Fade Nightmare, however, it appears to be bugged.  There is no way to get to Shale to end (or not) her Nightmare.

No, I don't know of a fix for it, I just didn't take Shale into the Fade again!

Less a bug, more a sloppy (sorry, Bioware) attempt at last minute to fix a glaring error, that being that it's well established Dwarves do not interact with the Fade, and even if you don't know she's a Dwarf yet, there also would be no reason to assume a stone construct interacts with the Fade. It's an "oh **** we gave her a Fade sequence..... But the deadline is soon so let's just make it inaccessible, we don't have the time to go back."

Again sorry Bioware. I still love you.

It's a bug.

Because of sloppy logic or sloppy programming or sloppy testing is irrelevant at this point.  Shale HAS a Nightmare.  Based on the way it is bugged, I would guess for a bug rather than intentionally making it inaccessible.  It could even be a carryover from when Shale was going to be part of the main game rather than DLC.

No, because Oghren has a nightmare.

No, because Oghren has a nightmare.

I always put Oghren's Nightmare down to being an alcoholic.

Ehh forget about Oghren. I usually do Circle first so I don't have him then. Whoops.  :o

The bug is apparently that you can't use the mouse to move past a point in her nightmare in PC.  You can, however, use the keyboard from what I've heard.

I played Shale's nightmare. It isn't much. Just walk up to her and talk. Say the right thing and she'll move. Boring.

Thanks.  The keyboard did the trick.  Shale in the Fade was a disappointment.  I thought the NPC's lost in the Fade were supposed to be in positive imaginary situations that would keep them complacent. (As with Alistair, Leliana, & Sten)  In Shale's case, in her dream, she should've been her former self before becoming a golem.  If they were going to go negative and make Shale a statue, they should've at least included plenty of pigeons!  (Her coming to life would've then been much more colorful!)

If you take shale to soldier's peak after finishing up the quest, their will be pigeons who'll follow her all over the place. It's pretty amusing.

Really? I've had no trouble with shale's nightmare. She's frozen and you reactivite her using the code word. It's quite boring, actually.
