Should it be possible for the protagonist to catch an STD off one of their romantic partners?

With all the sleeping around being done with all the new species in Andromeda odds are the protagonist would catch more than a few new space diseases, isn't that how Aids was originated?

But yeah with Bioware being no stranger to portraying controversial subject matter in such a way that provokes thoughtful discussion on issues such as racism, homosexuality and transgendered people do you think it is about time they tackled the difficult subject of STDs and the consequences of unprotected sex?

Sure, why not? A side quest can be trying to cure it...

Or spreading it. >.>

Yes. And it should effect your recharge speed and accuracy in the battlefield.

I'm not kidding either.

I would hope STD's are no longer an issue by that time period.

I would blame you, but everyone else keeps getting sucked in, so really, it's their fault.

It would certainly be different...

Yeah, why not. But, if it were my decision to put that in the game, I'd make a system where you can no longer have sex with anyone else until you get rid off it.

That should have happened in Mass Effect 2, and Mordin should have had to provide treatment.

Seems like recent threads have gone way off tangent. So, I reviewed the E3 trailer from Bioware.

https://www.youtube....ayer_detailpage

One

Bio confirmed their new IP. Starting with a clean slate design in Edmonton. No recent news about it, though.

Two

Bio confirms that ME:A is an interative game with new places, with new characters and apparently, fans said to..."move forward".  That's a strong hint about dropping the MW baggage. "Move forward" is interesting. The leaked poll suggests Bio is doing just that. The question is whether catching diseases makes for a great game. or for a hot romance.

What kind of story and interesting content could Bioware build around protagonist catching STD?

I remember very clearly that in the original Wasteland (circa 1988) you could catch an STD from a prostitute who is standing, two-dimensionally, in a little nook between two buildings. So this would not be entirely new ground.

It'd be hilarious if the game punished you with one for sleeping around and gave you an achievement for it. Then the next time people complain about a squadmate cheating on your character you could check their trophies and see just how innocent they are.

Just got flash backs to Fable 2 and 3 getting STDs from some of my many spouses and not knowing about it unless I checked the stats of my Hero or it popped up on a loading screen randomly.

Well ME2 had scale itch, so why not.

Prof. Mordin Solus: Perhaps later. Trying to determine how scale itch got onto Normandy, sexually transmitted disease only carried by varren. Implications... unpleasant.
