I think it would realistically, but I don't think it should be a plot point or gameplay feature unless sex in general turns out to be a big part of Andromeda. The games already dealt with some of the difficulties involved with inter-species sex in the Garrus and Tali romances, and STDs are alluded to in DA2, so I'd rather the devs spent that extra time fixing bugs or polishing more interesting features rather than invent systems for putting on a rubber just because it'd be a realistic concern.

The only way I could see an STD being incorporated into the new game would be if we discovered some planet colonized by hot alien babes (like the asari, i guess). My crew goes mad for em, and over half of my crew gets infected with some terrible STD while on shore leave. I have to race to find a cure before my crew dies from this illness. Symptoms could include babbling uncontrollably and wetting themselves while breaking out in blue spots. Once I cure them all, we all learn a valubale lesson about restraint and caution. Then we could devlop a new line of safe-sex products to market to our colonies, to protect them from....
Wait...what the hell am I doing? Why am I commenting on this?
Gah...I can't do it. Even in jest. I don't want STDs or an STD subplot. It sounds icky and gross. Why the hell would anyone want that?
Cripe's sake...we need some new game info soon. The forums are crumbling into madness!
