Mage is my favorite class, so I originally played as a male mage Hawke. In my replay before starting Inquisition, I made him a rogue. Being a non-mage actually fits the character better IMO. Putting their life on the line to save their little sister at all costs.

Plus, I see Hawke as the everyman between the super heroes that are the Warden and the Quis. Hard to be that when you toss fireballs around.

Yeah I can't help but play Mage as my 'most like me' main but never again for Hawke.

My rogue Hawke is the Batman of the trio of heroines, but no contingency plans, plot armor, and Batgod-like feats.

I was actually hoping the Quis would be an everyman too. Not some random superhero found in a ditch. No context at all to all the buildup from DA2 or Asunder. No relevance to the war or inquisition. And none of the down to earth/street qualities rogue hawke has.

When I look at their concept art, the Inquisitor is often a rogue.. and he/she does sort of look everyman-ish. It reminds me of Rogue Hawke. I suspect they had more backgrounds, before ruining it with the extra races and shoving the human in the "Sebastian" category. I never quite seem as cool as this within the game itself:

Yeah! My Canon is a male Mage! (I'm gonna say this; but I love Revan; a all human progie in KOTOR!) Yeah!

Never understood making the human in DAI a noble in the first place. Them not giving mages their own background seems like a wasted opportunity.

DAI seemed to do whatever it could to be the opposite of DA2. Resolving the Mage-Templar War in the first act was the most obvious, so was the complete lack of a rebel mage in your part.

I was a male mage in DA2! I studied mostly Fire and Earth magic spells while my husband Anders studied Ice and Electric...I freed that elf mage(forget his name) in that cave, supported the mages at the end against the crazy old lady(forget all of their names)...but I didn't approve Anders' action...I still think in the next new DA game there should be something about bringing Anders to somewhat of justice,or at least free him from that demon spirit called "Justice"!

Huh... He is alive in my Keep.. Although I did kill him In DA2 ( which made me sad. I love DAA Anders). So anything to murder Anders once more will be awesome!

And thank the Force for that.

One of my canon Hawkes is a neutral Warrior who ends up choosing the Templars only to have a higher chance of survival, but a Mage Hawke who frees the mages and starts a rebellion certainly makes sense (kinda the Spartacus of Dragon Age).

I only have one mage Hawke, a custom Lady Hawke. I love her very much, but I can't do any other playthroughs with a mage Hawke because I also love Bethany.

With Neverwinter on this one. I love Bethany. She's too sweet for me to ever let any harm come to her.

And he has alot of character development. Not saying Warden Bethany doesn't have any; just Warden Carver matures and isn't such a poor sport anymore. Lol; I WUZ YOU CARVER!

(Not like that... though i must admit my Male Aggressive Hawke did seem to think Bethany was way better then his current LI, Merril...)
