Initial math was off. 75% of 450 is 337.5, not 200. Might want to redo the math now bud
Reading comprehention is not your strong point I see.

No it is actually really strong. I am pointing out math errors. Because of you took away 75% from 450..or just find 25% of 450..you get 112.5 not 200.Reading comprehention is not your strong point I see.
If you read through the thread you would see that the starting health for Keeper at zero promotions is 450 (according to a thread by Kmeeg).
Belts reduce your health by 75% so to have 2 bars (200 health with pact belt) you need 800 health without. That means 350 health by promotions, which is 70 promotions at 5hp each.
80 promotions give you 400hp, so 100 with pact belt.
So 80 con stat for 2 bars plus 1 bar for every 80 con after that.
Basic math, see? No need for video or whatever.

I don't know, it makes perfect sense to me...
450 HP - 75% HP = 112.25 HP, the game displays at minimum 2 HP bars. Everything balances.
Your next HP bar is gonna display at >= 200.25 HP so you need 88HP (200.25 HP - 112.25 HP). Since the belt reduce HP by 75%, you need to multiply 88 HP * 4 = 352 HP, which in turns is 70.4 Constitution. That means you need 71 Constitution to get a 3rd bar because ".4 CON" doesn't exist...
Very easy to calculate and it does make a lot of sense.
What doesn't make ANY sense whatsoever is why you'd try to calculate the result in "CON" instead of HP... The belts are applying to HP, not CON, and this has a lot of implications because your characters gain HP/level. Furthermore, the gain in HP/level is different from character to character, as is the starting HP. Thus, you'd be wrong to use CON as soon as you get to level 2 or you'd use a different character, HP is the only way to calculate it correctly.
I can't figure how to quote properly so I hope you understand.
The bolded part is wrong because while the minimum is indeed 2 hp bars, those under 200 hp get 8 bars since for some reason, the game decides to use smaller fractions.
At 71 promotions, as you correctly noted, you will have 200,25hp. That means you'll get 2 bars because 2 bars represent hp between 200 and 299
As for the last part, I'm calculating in constitution instead of hp because I am talking about lvl 1s and because I don't really know the exact hp each class has, just Keeper (and that's just thanks to a thread by Kmeeg)
I have 269 Constitution. I start at lvl 1 with 4 bars and go up to 5 with no problem by lvl 15 on most characters

Your numbers make sense for a keeper with 450 hp at lvl 1. (I know I didn't first notice my third bar on a keeper) But do all the mages start with the same base hp? Does the saarebas get more hp per con like the Katari?

I have absolutely no idea. And as I've stated before, I doubt they ALL have the same base hp.
All I know for certain is that my lvl 1-19 Keeper/Virtuoso/AW have 2 bars of health at 120 constitution stat (Without counting the passives).
Who cares about HP anyway. I play my Saarebas on yolo-mode, no barrier and only guardian spirit, with the occasional elusive glyph when I feel like it.
So I sacrificed 3 level 1 mages in perilous pugs last night, all wearing the pact belts. My con is 176.
Lv. 1 Keeper 320hp
Lv. 1 Elementalist 320hp
Lv. 1 Saarebas 320 hp
It appears I was totally wrong. These numbers are consistent with 450 base hp, 830 hps added by 166 con, with pact belts reducing life to 25%, or 320 hps. I doubt any of the other mages have different base hps if the Saarebas did not.
GreySpectre is right on the money.
Lol @ this thread.
oh god, a math error vs grammar error slap fight.

In light of Hand's info, I suspect that even if the mages do have different starting and scaling HP, that the Pact belts "normalize" the HP across all mages (ie, make it the same).
each bar represents 100 health next time someone fades have em read your health
last time i used a lvl 1 wiht a pact belt on my hp was 286, i'll check again later on a higher level no doubt but i'm pretty sure it stays the same regardless of level, only have 96 con though, using the pride staff though in case that makes any difference /
I get it. Everyone is looking at hp.
Constitution is what a guy needs here guys. :/
Greyspectre already provided the correct con breakpoints which Proto confirms.
So to sum it up, and assuming mages have the same base health (which is doubtful).
2 bars - 80 con
3 bars - 160 con
4 bars - 240 con
5 bars - 320 con
6 bars - 400 con
7 bars - 480 con
8 bars - 560 con
All these are at level 1.

Re: GreySpectre
2 bars - 80 con
3 bars - 160 con
4 bars - 240 con
5 bars - 320 con
6 bars - 400 con
7 bars - 480 con
8 bars - 560 con
Explanation:
2 Bars of Health = (200 * 4 - 450) / 5 + 10 = 80
3 Bars of Health = (300 * 4 - 450) / 5 + 10 = 160
4 Bars of Health = (400 * 4 - 450) / 5 + 10 = 240
5 Bars of Health = (500 * 4 - 450) / 5 + 10 = 320
6 Bars of Health = (600 * 4 - 450) / 5 + 10 = 400
7 Bars of Health = (700 * 4 - 450) / 5 + 10 = 480
8 Bars of Health = (800 * 4 - 450) / 5 + 10 = 560
1 Constitution = 5 HP
Assumed Base HP for Mages = 450
Since we know the above we can figure out how much HP we would need if not wearing a belt:
"HP while wearing a pact belt" = HP divided by 4
"HP while wearing a pact belt" multiplied by 4 = "HP while not wearing a pact belt"
We need to remember to subtract the base 450 HP:
"HP while not wearing a pact belt" - 450 = "HP from constitution promotions"
We can convert HP into constitution by dividing "HP from constitution promotions" by 5.
Finally, you need to make sure and add the 10 base constitution that everyone starts with.
Result: Total constitution required to achieve each bar of health.
All this math is probably making some 5th grade teacher happy somewhere.... Course my eyes are bleeding from just scrolling through all that.
Can we get back to the killing please my sword arm is getting twitchy ![]()
